RE: Atlanta Airport Supervisor Fired For Missing Gun

Good, I'm glad to hear he was fired. I used to live in ATL and fly out often. To put it bluntly, even after Sept. 11, most of the security screeners were more interested about bantering between each other about what went on at the night club the night before, than actually looking at the screens. I ...

RE: Scariest Cloud I Have Ever Seen In My Entire Life

Remember back in the April of '97, when in one night, parts of Atlanta were absolutely destroyed by tornadoes. Well, I had the privilege of flying that night <img src="/discussions/graphics/wink.gif" ALT="Big grin"> . I arrived in ATL from STT (vacationing with family) that afternoon at maybe 5...

RE: America West Airlines

I have flown twice on America West, both times out of Atlanta, once to San Diego via Pheonix, the other time to Orange County via Phoenix. AWA gets a bad reputation, but my two experiences on them were great! Really friendly service by the flight attendants, and what they didnt have in terms of meal...

Usually whenever the flight number is that high, you can assume it is a charter flight or the plane is being ferried for maitenance.

AirTrain From Newark

In October I flying DAL-IAH-EWR on an ER4 and a 753. Usually, whenever I fly into the NYC area, I have one of my cousins pick me up and bring me to the city. Unfortunatly, both of them are going to be at weddings out of town that weekend, and I know that there is some train that goes from EWR to Pen...

No, some group came to me selling mag subscriptions, and unfortunatly Airliners, Airways, World Fleet News, or Airlines International wasnt availible so I had to settle for Flying. That being said it promptly goes into the trash as soon as I get it.  <img src="/discussions/graphics/giggles.gif"...

RE: How Many Frequent Flyer Miles Do You Have?

The real problem with being a commercial aviation enthusiast is that sometimes I dont think about FF miles and fly on someone just to fly on a certain type of aircraft.  <img src="/discussions/graphics/biggthumpup.gif" ALT="Big thumbs up"> That being said I probably have (I have blown alot of m...

RE: WN To ATL Ever?

Actually most Atlanta travelers who fly Southwest, do the 2.5 hour drive to Birmingham, Nashville is a 4 hour drive. I dont think that AGS is a proper city for Southwest to serve because of its very low population and it is a very poor city--and it is at least a 2.5 hour drive from Atlanta. Macon is...

RE: Air Marshalls To Sue For Better Working Conditions

Just think about it for a second, 40 hrs. isnt too much. That is an 8 hour day for 5 days. I know that these guys fly red-eyes and long routes, but fed. law mandates that they do get rest. And Im sure they get it! Its not like these guys are flying ORD-HKG and then just hopping on the return flight....

RE: How "Low" Is Morale At UA... I Mean Really?

aa717driver: In my opinion "The Worst Airline" (TWA) always lived up to its billing. I for one, couldnt have cared less if the airline had just gone out of business. I probably flew on them about 14 times since '94, mainly out of ATL either to DFW, ORD, or the West Coast. The gate areas they owned, ...

RE: Delta Old International First Class?

I flew Delta international first class on an L1011-500, ATL-SNN-ATL I think it might have been in July '96. The seats I believe were 2-1-2, they were really wide leather blue seats, the legroom and recline wasnt great though. I was psyched because they had PTVs and this was the first plane I had bee...

Oh c'mon! These people are complaining when they work for $50K a year, and all they do is sit and fly (yeah, yeah...there is the remote chance of something happening). I'd take this job in a second though. These guys arent sitting in seat 28E in back of an MD-88 either. They usually get either premi...

RE: Delta To Charge Pax For Add'l Checked Bag

I dont know, I thought that they always charged people for really heavy bags. A couple months ago I checked a bag that was 66 lbs. when the limit on UA is 70 lbs. The ticket agent looked really pissed off that he couldnt get some money out of me. He gave me a pretty mean look as he heaved the bag on...

Actually the thing is, is that I have a two free OneWorld Business Class ticket from North America to Europe that I won in a raffle. RE: AA To Announces Changes Tomorrow

The real problem with AA is the fact that they saved TWA and kept operating TWA's routes out of St. Louis. The routes out of St. Louis are hemmoraging money like you wouldnt believe. The problem with St. Louis is that there is not enough originating traffic to put a hub there, and people that do ori...

I knew before that DFW-ZRH was served by AA on a code-share, but I have already flown AA Business and havent been too impressed. Airline Flight Boards

Hey Guys, I was wondering if any of you know where to buy flight/gate information boards. I'm talking about the semi old-school boards that airlines have at the gate. The ones with the slide in placards that have information like the flight number, destination, time, and status of the flight. If any...

<<<< First, I don't understand why you would fire off a "pleasant letter to Vicki Escarra" (I take it you're being facetious) regarding the fact that you WERE reaccomodated in Business Class on a later flight. It's not the airlines fault that YOU CHOSE to miss your confirmed flight to JFK. Summer is...

AA First Class 767 To Hawaii..Question

Has anyone flown the AA 767-300ER to Hawaii in First Class? Are the seats the old grey ones or have they been changed, how are they? Are there PTVs? Thanks for the info, I am trying to decide whether to use AA, TW (763), or DL (764) to Hawaii in First Class, I have seen pics of TWs and DLs aircraft ...

Any Feedback For AF L'Espace Affaires?

I am flying in mid-July ATL-JFK-CDG-FCO-CDG-JFK-ATL.. The segments of ATL-JFK and JFK-ATL are in DL Business Elite, which I have flown before. On the segments from JFK-CDG-FCO (777, 737) and FCO-CDG-JFK (320, 744) I am flying AF L'Espace Affaires. Unfortunatly on the AF website there is not too many...
