RE: JFK Terminal 5 (TWA) To Be Closed Dec. 1

Matt D, I have to completely disagree with you. Terminal 5 is one of the most beautiful ever built. Being only 28, I always felt as is that was as close as I'd ever get to flying in the "glory days" of aviation. I absolutely love when I get to pass through it just for the look of the place. True it ...

RE: DCA To Costa Rica On AA

I agree with your feelings on Costa Rica, it's an amazing country, not only are the people friendly, but they are amazingly proud of being nuetral, I was reminded several times that they have no army. I flew EWR-SJO on CO about a month ago and SJO-IAH-LGA on the return. I found checking in on CO's S...

RE: USA Today Article - Airline Industry Falling

I still found the most amazing thing about this article the fact that Delta is switching to all regional jets on it's shuttle flights. This is the first I've heard of, perhaps there is already a thread on this, but are their planes really that empty? I can't imagine them increasing frequency any mor...

RE: For Anyone Who Has Flown On TWA Since The Buyout..

I imagine it's like most announcements and it's a bit of a crap shoot. Sometimes you get the captain and the flight crew that is all about giving you all kinds of information and sometimes you only get the bare minimum. So I guess the answer to your question is sometimes yes and sometimes no

RE: Inflight Service On Spirit

Airwarrior, I can't agree with you more. Service on Spirit is non existent. I was delayed for over three hours on a flight to LGA, just after everyone was on board did they annouce we would be flying to EWR instead because we would miss the landing curfew at LGA. They must have known this before boa...

Why No JeBlue To Montreal

I'm wondering why jetBlue doesn't go to Montreal or Toronto from JFK? Actually, why are their no low-fares competing on these routes? These routes always seem extremely over priced and would seem to generate traffic to feed into jetBlue's Florida destinations. Even on the west coast, I'm wondering w...

RE: Next Major Airline In US?

While I think Spirits growth has been large, it's been around 10 years or so and this is as big as it's gotten so far. jetBlue is still pretty new and they would seem to rival Spirit already. I'm not sure I could see jetBlue and Frontier merging. Not only do their service levels vary, but their pric...

RE: Delta Express Vs. Spirit

Good for you. USair is a good choice, I flew spirit once, and will never do it again. I won't get into details, but it was an awful experiece. I've known three others who have taken them in the past 6 months and all have had lengthy delays, one even has a flight that was supposed to be N/S FLL-LGA, ...

RE: Now Extinct Low Fare Carriers Of Early 90's

CityBird was fantastic. At the time they were flying EWR-BRU. This was my first trip to Europe, even though it was mid December, the $200 roundtrip ticket was a steal. The MD-11 seemed to be pretty new, and I was really shocked by the level of service. For such a cheap fare, I didn't expect the full...

Now Extinct Low Fare Carriers Of Early 90's

I flew quite a few of these in the early 90's. As a college student I was always looking for a great deal to head down to Florida to visit family. I wish I remember the exact dates of some of these flights, thinking back on them, they were quite an experience. I flew the 3rd and final incarnation of...
