America West Discontinues BDL-LAS And Others

The news here in Hartford is reporting that America West is ending it's daily BDL-LAS non stops as well as several other routes today not affecting Hartford. Anyone know what other flights are being cut? I was on this flight about a month ago and it was pretty full going out and completely full comi...

Public Charters

I was just wondering if any of these are still in business?

I remember Skybus from the late 80's, early 90's as well as The Florida Shuttle.

Anybody have any memories of these or the other public charters?

They have so many planes on order they need to keep expanding their routes. They probably aren't growing too fast, because on the routes that they established when they first started flying all have multiple flights daily. they have something like 7 or a 8 flights a day from JFK-FLL. They must be fi...

I don't think you'll ever see WN at either Atlanta or Miami, they are both too busy for them. Doesn't AirTran already fly both of the routes you mentioned, ATL-MIA and ATL-MCO. They should help bring the cost down. There will be more competition into San Juan soon when Spirit, American Trans Air and ...

For the most part I have a strong track record of sitting next to people that are terribly shy or horribly boring. Then again I tend to shy away from most conversation myself out of fear of having to talk for most of the flight instead of being able to sleep. I do recall this event however, I was fl...

after checking out their results on epinions I'm sure you'll agree with me that you should expect to be delayed. It seems like all of their flights are delayed everyday.
Although I'm sure you got a great rate on that flight.

I miss Western Pacific and their Mystery Fares very badly, I'd love to see them come back. New Carrier For Orlando

I just read in Airliner World that a company called Regal Airways plans to start service in October from Orlando Sanford International to 18 U.S. Cities with six 737-300's and 2 757s (all ex-British Airways) to be acquired via a leasing option.

Has anyone heard of this? Any thoughts?

Interesting link to the article. I'm not sure I agree with the theory that if more people used the airport to begin with, then more flights would be added, therefore attracting another low fare carrier and non stop service to more destinations. I don't see any of the airlines that serve this airport...

I'm curious as to why these airports seem underutilized and why more low fare carriers haven't tried to use them. I know Midway serves Newburgh. In Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, the scene where they are at the airport. They board a plane with "no logo". However you don't have to look very hard to see that it is a Valujet DC-9 painted over with whitewash. The film is set in the early 1970's, long before the critter was flying.

My first flight was on July 28th from BDL to LAS via HP. We flew on A320 N649AW. The scheduled departure was 6:20, we took off at 6:32. The flight was almost completely full yet I still managed to get the entire exit row to myself. As did the person across the aisle from me. It would have been nicer...

You really think jetBlue will test the JFK-IAD and JFK-BOS markets, they seem like they would have alot of trouble matching the majors in those markets.
Otherwise I agree with your other choices for destinations.

I just checked several dates on the same routes, and I saw most fares posted around $129 or $149 each way. What dates did you check?

By my math it's $258 or $298 roundtrip.

I'm also pretty sure that Delta fare wouldn't be so low if jetBlue wasn't in the market.

I'm wondering why jetBlue doesn't go to Montreal or Toronto from JFK? Actually, why are their no low-fares competing on these routes?
