I'll add some more. the dedicated bus service is timed for the Norwegian flights. If I'm correct, you purchase it as a package, mostly this is done on the European side.

The airport is so small, it would be almost impossible to miss the bus, unless you were detained by customs/immigration

They were purchased by Presidential Airways in, I think, 1986. Not sure what happened to them from that point, but it doesn't seem like either airline actually survived for long after that. I'm sure Icelandair would be happy to see them go. There is more demand now and I think FI would pick it up and also the US majors.

Perhaps they are banking on a large Indian tourist market to make the Iceland stopover. It was very popular with Chinese and Japanese already.

I'm sure there are other EAS examples. Alaska must have some too up north, but I agree, mainline isn't likely to do this. When Frontier debuted, they had DEN-ABQ-ELP for a while.

As mentioned in the JetBlue network thread, B6 is adding PVD / BDL - PBI and reducing PWM to a summer-only destination. B6 already flys BDL-PBI. While searching for a booking yesterday, I did notice that BDL-PBI has been upgraded to an A321 from Jan-Feb Just over the border from CT in White Plains....

I wouldn't put that much stock into the initial routes they are planning. They are keeping them close to their hubs so they can get crew trained on them first and work out mx issues. Once they see their actual performance and more of the planes in the fleet we'll see where they wind up.

Before I understood AC utilazation better, I didn't understand why they didn't deploy their A320's and former 757s on red eyes from LAS to the East coast. Now I understand they would have to overnight crews on those routes with low fares, its better to just park the planes.

I really don't see why B6 would want to merge with them. They can't compete on transcons, and west coast flying is already quite competitive. B6 has much bigger priorities in TATL, South America and adding more service to their existing hubs. B6 made a strategic mistake by not being more aggressive...
