As I stated before a lot of EY problems where how they introduced the SFO market by using a 777W Jet Airways, with no good marketing. The 777L is the better variant or either a 787, if they have some? I think the potential is still very strong for EY in SFO, they just need to correctly re-market the...Jump to post
I'm guessing they will use the frame to do SFO and cater to the premium market solely and drop the reg 359 and use that for other routes. Then they will upgage the existing 77w from SFO to HKG to a a380 to compensate for the loss of seats from the business/first only ULR359. All this while serving L...Jump to post
One opinion only, but my sister flew EY last year to India and found planes to be not clean. I have no idea how EY flew the 9W B77W to SFO as these had heavy seats in First class and business class Subu That's what I was saying. They underestimated the SFO market by providing a less then stellar ha...Jump to post
I think one of the main issues that has not been discussed is EY and how they launched into the San Francisco. I think EY made a big mistake!!! They underestimated the Premium market that the Bay Area is and especially the Indian IT dispora. Example: it was just fairly recently that we started getti...Jump to post
how are departures and arrival times different?Jump to post
No wonder so many new airlines want to serve SFO. Almost every airline is flying 80%+ planes in the summer. Two things came to mind 1) We dont know anything about yields. It is not all about having high load factors. 2) Having high load factors in August is expected. The question is how airlines ar...Jump to post
I would imagine that Papeete is a very high end leisure market and not a cheap place to visit. I can't really see DY working that market, especially from OAK. I could see AF using one of their 777 from SFO 2-3 times a week to Papeete, maybe a seasonal route? High yielding leisure is precisely what ...Jump to post
What are DY's plans like for building an intra-Europe focus cities in Madrid, Rome, and Paris? They do have plans to expand their BCN operations as well, right? It seems like a major key to DY's advantage over other networks may be their connection potential within Europe, which seems like it can r...Jump to post

For some reason I don't see this flight sticking around for more then a year or two. Not that the Chinese carriers cancel, it just seems they are riding the subsidy and when that dry's up? Also Seattle to Shenzhen, sorry i don't see that much demand their. Seattle has really added alot of capacity t...Jump to post
I bet this is true but I don't belive they would solely announce these routes solely from OAK. They probably would also start them from their other U.S destinations. Also OAK wouldn't be the biggest. JFK,FLL and LAX are still bigger then OAK. They would have 8 routes being flown, which would be tie...Jump to post
Wow! Herd through the grapevine that Norwegian will be announcing new routes soon to Rome, Paris and Madrid from Oakland.
If this turns out to be true that would make Oakland it's largest international station in the USA?
The Bay-Area continues to explode with new international services!!!

The SF Bay Area is totally killing it .... as of this new service announcement, Bay Area airports will have nonstops to all 5 major Nordic airports - CPH ARN OSL HEL KEF, by a combination of SAS, Norwegian, WOW, and now Finnair. It really is impressive..... I knew during the 90's and 00's years the...Jump to post
IAD seems a logical next step in NA. One thing I do not understand is that why doesnt AI sell interline itineraries on its website. If one wants to fly to LAX, they cannot buy the DEL-SFO-LAX trip on AI's website. I know UA is not interested to code share with AI at this time but why doesnt AI sell...Jump to post
Wow! welcome back Finnair. It's a great airline, took them on one of those md-11's in the 90's, a fast way to northern euro and and back. Has anyone flown them of recent? Interesting time leaving the late departure out of SFO? Well those international piers are going to have one hell of a busy 2017 ...Jump to post

At the end of the day, I think most people would prefer service expansions with remote boarding over restricting travel options due to gate limitations.
3 carriers mel-lax? now I know their is more demand then SFO, but I believe a one daily Mel-Sfo would and could be a UA winner!Jump to post
I have to say more often then not I prefer remote/bus/tarmac departure and arrival. It mixes things up and gives you a chance to breath real air often after being stuck on a plane for too long. A little rain/wind/etc only adds to the realness of the experience, and being ground level gives you a gre...Jump to post
I would hope to see a SFO flight soon, i would expect it to be a success given all the *star feed demand and overall popularity of LH and Swiss. The problem with flights between the U.S. and Austria is that they are very leisure oriented and SFO is at the "end of the line" for connections...Jump to post
I agree between immigration and security the "experience" will always be under some challenge. The way I see it is that SFO wants people spending those dollars in the shops(which many asians and euro's do) and access to clubs. If you had a few remote stands for the lower cost Wow, volaris,...Jump to post
It may take a hit or two this winter, will see. UA has ton's of experience flying the pacific, and they will route what works with those pacific storms. I heard the flight is doing really well.. how are bookings going forward with SQ coming in soon?Jump to post
Great news! I posted some time back about sfo needed to get going with remote parking. Yes it's not the premium experience but it adds a little flavor to the travel experience and most important is it will hopefully aleave planes waiting for a gate which has been a growing problem due to the surgin...Jump to post

I would imagine that SFO would need more capacity then just Two asia routes from a 77W. Those 747 are filled full often and what is really going to make up for that. Also with Singapore air dropping Seoul to SFO there will need to be a capacity increase on that route. Will Asiana bump up to a 747 al...Jump to post
What about their TransPac routing which is supposedly going to shave of nearly 4 hours off the flights. I believe that will happen this coming winter or spring. That could save some time? 4 hours might be a high estimate, but it could help to maybe make this a 7 day a week flight next year at some ...Jump to post

I predicted NH, BA and probably HU would thrive at SJC, but wasn't sure LH and CA would last. Anyone know how LH and CA are doing at SJC? I might be wrong. T-100 is only out through February so it doesn't have LH or CA in it yet but someone could probably look through the airports traffic stats and...Jump to post
Looks like AI has uploaded an additional 3 flights/week beginning on Nov 21. Will fly 6/w, not on Tuesdays. Do you think UA will jump in? Or perhaps direct to BLR for the tech community (like they did with TLV)? Also UA to TLV goes daily October 17. I think UA will let AI have this route for the ti...Jump to post
Wow the Bay Area is exploding with international service! I don't think you have another situation like it in the US? Where you have a mega international airport (SFO), then Two strong supporting international airports all so close (SJC,OAK)?Jump to post
I thought that was interesting too. I wonder if it is even accurate or a filing error? If true, it is odd in that Summer is not peak to DXB as a destination, so Fall is a decent time seasonally, although certainly they connect a lot. I almost wonder if those cuts are either 1) an attempt to get yie...Jump to post
