Very nice report ! I like TAP, i'm quite fond of this airline and since I live near Portugal for me it is somewhat my "second" home airline. Yoiu just don't see many TP reports around here ... It is nice that TP ...Jump to post
Interesting trip . I was expecting much more detail, though. I'm sure there is much more to tell about Indian carriers. Btw, it seems it is indeed one of the few places in the world where airlines are like they used to be only a few years ago. What is generally speaking the fare level ? Here in Spai...Jump to post
Nice report ! Next time you could consider VLC-BRU with Vueling and a train to Rotterdam. Belgian trains are quite cheap. I'm looking...Jump to post
Most Spaniards in their 20's wouldn't mind at all if they were called "tú" by an IB FA or not, you know here we don't care much about it any more. Funnily, often women in their 40's or older feel insulted if t...Jump to post
What a childish and stupid remark you made, Andrés !!! There is nothing here about "patriotism", not even about preferring an airline over other !! IB does not need german customers ? Nonsense ! Not only any carrier needs any customer , that's simple busines...Jump to post
Just for the record, Some years ago, when IB went on a mad shopping frenzy and bought AR, VA, UC (which turned to be a nightmare) the airline tried to buy ...Jump to post
I always liked TP and find them to be my second "home" airline as I live very near the border, OPO airport is 1 h away from home and they have great deals. Most people here (if not all) have their favourite airline. As we all are a aviation enthusiasts, some of them are as crazy about their airlines as others woulr be about the football team. Not long ago, when IB had on board service on domestic and European f...Jump to post
Actually *most* "Quality" airlines do carry blankets and pillows on board, even on short hops. Normally you just need to ask your FA. If I recall correctly, blankets are (somewhat) considered "safety equipment" by some carriers as they may prove to be...Jump to post
Well .. take it easy Colombian guys ! perhaps it is not the best report around but certainly I've seen many others which are much worse !!! Only a remark ... Actually I don't think people care wheter you found your FA to be cute or not. Something like...Jump to post
Nice report ! Just remember that the MD 88 were originally Aviaco planes (no replacements for the MD 87, nor are they "more modern" , they're about as old) , so that's why they had no IFE installed when they bought t...Jump to post
I found very interesting that you had flew IB on the first day of their new horrid inflight "service" for sale. Did they made special announcements ? Did people buy meals onboard ? I found also funny that you found it "not too expensive". IMHO Iberia's new "...Jump to post
"creature", criatura in Spanish is an affective term !! So the FA was not bitching at all about the passenger who went to the toilet !!! btw, IB has greatly downgraded their own catering -- it will dissappear ...Jump to post
Strange they serve cake on the MAH flights, other domestic routes almost lack of inflight service. Some remarks, Madrid airport is Barajas, not Bajaras. Spanair does indeed offer internet sales. Also e-tickets are available. The 717 is...Jump to post
As someone else said, Iberia's MD 88 stock were originaly delivered to Aviaco,
their former domestic branch. That's why they have no IFE.
As someone said, BMI and Lufthansa both belong to Star Alliance. Since 1st April Spanair also joined the alliance. Their handling subsidiary Newco handles many Star carriers in Madrid and other S...Jump to post
So did you fly Spanair after all ?? I am glad you've enjoyed Spain. Also that the "misterious" AC flight to madrid does actually exist. Does it get cancelled often or what ? It is also a codeshare with JK (Spanair) and ...Jump to post
About IFE ... I understand it was switched off, right ? I mean to MAD they fly also the 340 and 747s and they have some kind of IFE. I always want to try AR , at least MAD - LHR or MAD-CDG . They fly with M88 as they have a small "hub" here, the same as IB had in BUE some years ago when both carrier...Jump to post
Nice report ! How is the safety demo done "manually" in a 747 ? I've never seen one, always video presentations in these big planes. I mean, you are not able to see all exits in the cabin from your seat , how is the "pointing of exits" done ? Only the nearest ones ? Something like "look for the near...Jump to post
As always, just excellent When you travel, do you always share rooms ? What about pilots ? gain, very great ! You're the best around here ! Here in Europe Air Tran is either an "unknown" carrier or if it has one then it is on the "not so good" side but surely it must be much better with people like you! Are more FAs reading this forum ? Come on guys and gals, talks us about your trips !Jump to post
"in the departure lounge at lisbon, four out of seven departures were delayed. i think that spells "unreliable" fairly well" Then check any major european airport any random day and check their flag carrier (IB at MAD, AF at CDG , AZ at FCO LH at FRA and so on) , you can also check airport web sites...Jump to post
Urgh, Easyjet on board catering prices are real high ! in any case in pair with airport prices, or perhaps even more expensive. How do they compare with other "low cost" carriers ? I really don't understand how they can't manage to offer "low cost" prices for their onboard offerings - wouldn't it le...Jump to post
I think you're exagerating a bit about TP. reading your trip report I don't see it to be so awful, rather your "european standard flag carrier" , and a bit old fashioned perhaps (no PTV ,etc) . I only flew TP once, FRA-OPO-FRA , and then it had a refreshing good service comparing with IB. You flew a...Jump to post
Hi Do you have any "hola airlines" material (magazines , brochures, safetys) you might want to trade ? Which aircraft ? a 737 ? How many crew members ? All female ? Is always interesting to read reports on Iberia seen by a foreigner as it is my home airline. Yes there are heaps of flights MAD-BCN, Iberia Spanair and also sometimes Air Europa. It is certainly one of the busiest sectors in Europe. Glad you had full service MAD-FCO-MAD . My parents flew MAD-MXP la...Jump to post
How did you know that Massimo is gay ? He told you ?
Anyhow, I collect timetables as well. If you got ryanair, goodjet or ciao airlines timetables at Paris beauvois and want to trade, please email me and i'll send you a swap list . [email protected]
I'm still fond of Eastern because it was the first American carrier I flew , in 1988, actually the leg was ATL-MIA ! It was then an "unknown" airline for me , I've never heard of it before.Jump to post
Very nice trip report and very nice reading about a not-so-common (in this forum) carrier like TP !Jump to post
Hei Well after my studying period has ended time has (sadly) come for me to finaly leave Finland and go back to Spain. Strange meal options .. paella or chicken & rice, almost the same (And there are some kind of paella with rice, so ...)
