RE: 787 - Launch Customer

I can't wait to see AA make an order . Although I do find myself somewhat conflicted about what it will look like. Will Boeing be able to make a shiny,...

RE: Rolling Stones B747 + MD11 In GIG

Should be one helluva show! They sure know how to travel I guess. Here they get a 747, and an MD-11 and who was it, Bon Jovi(?), who was travelling in a 707 that ran off the runway a few weeks ago. Someone must be feeling a little jilted.

The old days of aviation! It's times like those, looking at those crazy colors, that I'm glad I wasn't alive in the '70s.

RE: A320 With Blended Winglets

I should have said, the addition of winglets, will allow the A320 to compete comparably in a broader range of applications, by increasing the ability to perform more efficiently on longer flights. The product is most certainly competitive. As we have seen recently the A320 can single handedly be cre...

RE: Delta Rumor

I think it would be great to see DL serving south Africa. I don't know why they wouldn't do the route non-stop. It seems to me if you have a fleet of 777's no matter how small, you would use them on a route like that. After all, if you don't use them ...

RE: US To Acquire ATA 757's?

What is the nature of ATA's financial position? I guess I didn't realize they were under bankruptcy protection. Are they being liquidated? With talk of all their 757's being sold, it sounds that way. I guess they still have the 73's, but are they going too?

RE: Here's What A 757 With A 737 Nose Looks Like..

I sure hope Y1 has the high position of the 757. I think it gives it much better presence, and not to mention it gives you greater opportunity for derivatives, as stretched versions would be less subject to tail strikes. I think the 737 is not a particularly attractive aircraft, and hope that Boeing...

RE: AA To Remove Two Galleys From Each MD-80

As an AA customer, and one that lives in Dallas, I have certainly flown on my share of MD-80s. I think it makes sense. Less weight, more commonality among the fleet, and more passengers will certainly not hu...

RE: UA Superbowl Commercial?

I didn't see the commercial until just now, and I liked it very much. It was not one that goes down in history as amazing, but it certainly gets the point across. As many of the arm- chair CEOs here, with all their wealth of advertising experience complain about it, I think it made perfect sense. It...

RE: What Most Likely With Happen To NWA

I don't think we will see NWA liquidate or be purchased. Their fleet is certainly quite different than many of their competitors. The only other large operator of 744s is UA, in financial straits themselves, having just emerged from chapter 11. The DC...

RE: Avianca "to Order" 42 Widebodies (Airbus/Boeing?)

I would love to see them choose a mix of 787 and 737NG. I doubt they would have a need for anything larger than a 787-9, like the 777. I certainly don't see them needing and 744/8s. I bet we will see a Boeing widebody order, and airbus and Boeing will duke it out for the single aisles, hopefully to ...

American Airlines: "We know why you fly. We're American Airlines."
Braniff: "If you go it, flaunt it."
United: "It's time to fly."

Although I am an AA flyer, as my name suggests, I am certainly happy to see the long revered United emerging from bankruptcy. Even though I do not fly united I can certainly appreciate the importance they play in the American aviation arena. I wish them the best of luck, and by the way, I think thei...
