Re: FlyDubai 737 MAX cabins

Has anybody ever installed (or considered installing) a herringbone layout J class on a narrowbody? I don't like them in the slightest but it does seem a way of achieving all-aisle access without going for ridiculously-low density. Check out the AA transcon A321s https://www.seatguru.com/airlines/A...

Re: FlyDubai 737 MAX cabins

I never understood why they would put two lie-flat seats together. What happens if the other passenger that is closed in by the window needs to use the restroom? That seems a little inconvenient. Probably the same thing they would do if they were flying in a window (or middle  ) seat in J on...

Re: Why long haul planes sit for a long time on ground...?

Most flights from the US to South America involve the aircraft sitting on the ground all day, before another overnight flight back home. Time zones are not compatible with overnights both directions, as most flights are at most 2-3 time zones apart.

Delta also wanted to serve the route, but they aren't sadly. I would say LAX-PVG is way busier, because you have AA, DL, MU, and UA serving the route with five daily flights I believe. Yep, this is true, but I really never understood why there's more demand for PVG flights than PEK... Why is there ...

Capacity jump will be 79 seats, based on the 340 pax configuration which has been mentioned in this thread. I'm not sure if it is related to this subject, but your first picture (without the overwing exit) looks photoshopped in that specific area. The wing, engine pylon and livery all look quite warped specifically in that area. It may just be heat distorting the picture, and it may be completely unrelate...

No - they operated following narrowbodies: DC3 DC4 DC6 (I think) Electra Convair 880 B707 So, the 707, presumably because it was the only thing available at the time, is the only NB jet they've ever flown? I flew ICN-KUL on AAX in J. That to me is the advantage of these ULCC. Their J fares are about on par with (or below) legacy Y; I paid about $450. It's kind of a big fish in a small pond mentality.
