The Fall Of Sabena

I appologize in advance if this topic has been discusses, in fact, I cannot imagine that it would not have been, but my searches in the current and archived forums did not reveal any insight into my questions. That being said... I was wondering what exactly caused the fall of Sabena. I was just watc...

Why did they fly the DC-10 and the L-1011 at the same time? They were designed to fulfill the same mission, and are roughly the same size. Did any other airlines fly these side-by-side?

DC-10 Center Wheel And The L1011

I have always wondered about the main gear on the Mid 70s widebodies, the DC-10 and L-1011. Why is it that the DC-10 requires a center bogie, while the L-1011 does not, and the 747 requires 4 bogies. The trucks on the DC-10 and L10 look very similar and are carrying roughly similar loads. It also ap...

I would love to fly on the 707. I was also under the impression that the only civilian operated 707s were used by Saha. No wonder they went under, if at the time of the merger their only long haul aircraft were 752s and 10 763ers. Its sad to think what was once one of the US's largest international carriers was reduced to nearly regional status by the time of their demise.
