Thinking about planning a trip to Hawaii (never been). Looking for advice on the following: -suggested airlines and routing for catching widebodies (we live near BOS) -best island(s) assuming a trip of about a week -what you really recommend doing, i.e. resorts, activities, any standout vegetarian/...

or Delta to JFK, and then on Hawaiian A330-200 to HNL. No need to take Delta to JFK and be forced to have to switch terminals, claim and re-check baggage as well as go thru security again when you can book right on Hawaiian's website, fly on JetBlue, check luggage all the way thru and merely change...

There has also been a leak on facebook that the economy seats could be the Thompson Cozysuite as pictured below https://www.facebook.com/AIRLINESECRETS ... 5470248463 That could be an absolute game changer regarding my hate to the 787. 20" in Y would be great and for ULH flights it would make ...

I despise this years election on so many levels, and the one thing I will say-that im sure has maybe been posted somewhere before if only as food for thought: The more Trump goes off the wall with his comments, the more I think he might be in it to throw it-cause it certainly seems he doesn't give a...

Re: AS/VX Deal May Be in Trouble

Considering that ALK's Debt to Equity ratio is less than half that of JetBlue's, I'd guess that you can't equivocate "overpaying" for each of those airlines. For Jetblue, it's possible that $1.5B would have been overpaying. The overpaying reference is to the market cap/actual value of VX....

Re: AS/VX Deal May Be in Trouble

Agree. I think the regulatory risk, and rationale for potential for network synergies as a result of the merger, were both far, far greater with a JetBlue combination than with Alaska. Indeed, I think Alaska's management team themselves knew that and that's at least part of the reason precisely why...

Why just because they have the same type of airplanes? It's not really as big of a deal as everyone here makes it out to be. Whether that rationale will ultimately be viewed as having been worth such an enormous price - in terms of consideration and assumed liabilities - is still TBD. As someone who's done JFK-HNL roundtrip twice, I can confidently say that the prevailing wind is westerly in December/January. The JFK-HNL leg was 10:35 the first time and 10:58 the second time. HNL-JFK legs were 9:20 and 9:42. The added time on the second trip was likely at least partly due to the ...
