Hi All, Being from Pennsylvania the only thing I've heard about the recall election is that it is going to take place and who will be running in it. What I am wondering, is what led Californian's to be so unhappy with Governor Davis in the first place. Nothing to that effect has been mentioned in an...Jump to post
Midway mk 1 bought out the assets of or merged with AirFlorida when it shut down (I forget exactly). I will get the exact specifics when I get home, it is in the book Deregulation Knockouts Round 1. And I did know about Brannif and Florida Express.
Midway mk 1: Chicago Midway Philadelphia (purchased Eastern's <acronym title="Philadelphia - International (PHL / KPHL), USA - Pennsylvania">PHL</acronym> hub) Orlando (they bought out a florida based airline, im assuming <acronym title="Orlando - International (McCoy) (MCO / KMCO), USA - Florida">M...Jump to post
Perhaps the fact they continue to hire staff and take deliveries is part of their trouble? I'm sure most of you remember Midway. They took deliveries of new airplanes right up to their shutdown after 9/11 (or close to that). Overexpansion has killed many an airline or put it in great peril, I would ...Jump to post
I also get my hair cut at Supercuts (i like it!) for 16.00 (cut & tip). The hair cut is $14.00...but I also get my hair gel every third cut and thats $14.95...yes...more than the haircut itself. Its nuts. Oh well!

While walking out of the office with my friend Steph for lunch, I got squished in the revolving door. You know how revolving doors have the little "sections"...well only one person can fit in each at this office. I was not paying attention, I was just talking with her, she went in and started to pus...Jump to post
From the book "Deregulation Knockouts": "Hard on the heals of Pacific East Air, The Hawaii Express began Los Angeles-Honolulu flights for just $89.95 on August 20, 1982 using a 501-seat Boeing 747. After the established carriers matched its fare, the airline's dwindling loads could not support the 7...Jump to post
Maybe if UAL loses <acronym title="Acapulco - General Juan Alvarez Int'l (ACA), Mexico">ACA</acronym> in <acronym title="Washington - Dulles International (IAD / KIAD), USA - Virginia">IAD</acronym> we may see more focus on USAirways Trans-Atlantic ops from <acronym title="Philadelphia - Internation...Jump to post

When do they plan on launching this LCC? The summer is almost over and with it goes the majority of whatever profits they hoped to (or may have) make (made) this year. If the winter doesn't drain them dry, this LCC probably will. I'm not understanding the logic. The reasoning is there, but I can't f...Jump to post
AA717Driver-I dont meant to go off topic here, but could you email me about the TWA/AA merger and how it affected the TWA employees? The best of luck to Delta on her recovery, I'll be praying for her. Being in the United States, she is virtually unheard of here. I only know of her because a friend of mine in Australia bought her first single "Born To Try" and mailed it to me. She has a wonderful voice. I am currently awaiting the...Jump to post
My father is a Delta Airlines employee in Atlanta. For Christmas, he couldn't non-rev on Delta due to everything being oversold so he bought cheap tickets on AirTran-and was blown away by the professionalism of the staff on the ground and in the air as well as the service. Oh yea, those new 717s, he...Jump to post
NWA outcompeted them from Detroit several years back when they used to fly to those cities (i live in Philadelphia) and so Spirit left.
(this was all from a res agent I called at the time, I was trying to book on them and she told me the service was disconuing because of the competition)
Looks like an exciting time for Spirit. I wonder though how a <acronym title="Detroit - Metropolitan Wayne County (DTW / KDTW), USA - Michigan">DTW</acronym> build-up will pan out for them. They were run out of both Philly and Pittsburgh by Northwest in the past...how will things turn out this time?...Jump to post
I was thinking Spirit (maybe <acronym title="Orlando - International (McCoy) (MCO / KMCO), USA - Florida">MCO</acronym> or even ACY you never know) but they have a big operation right up in <acronym title="Detroit - Metropolitan Wayne County (DTW / KDTW), USA - Michigan">DTW</acronym> so I thought t...Jump to post

Did Allegiant ever come out of bankruptcy? I remember them filing but I never saw anything about them exiting. If they did-how are their finances looking and how is the expansion affecting their finances? Overxpansion has killed more than a few carriers.
I have a couple questions regarding cargo airlines and how they operate. 1)What are their aircraft routings like? Do they operate through hub and spoke systems: For example, <acronym title="Atlanta - The William B Hartsfield International (ATL / KATL), USA - Georgia">ATL</acronym>-<acronym title="Ph...Jump to post
