I flew BOS-ATL-EWR about 10 years ago just to fly on one of DLs last widebody BOS-ATL flights on the 767-300 and connect to ATL-EWR on a 757.
Strictly an aviation adventure, flew all the way south and back up north for a trip that would have otherwise been a 4 hour drive or a 45 min nonstop.
SOMETHING TO NOTE: DL has added 763 service to SLC starting in April on a 3:45pm flight... interesting considering that it is an internationally configured plane. A one off or for an extended period of time? Surprising! must be for positioning? DLs domestic widebodys have been missed at BOS and I’d...Jump to post
It's like some of you are talking about animals and this guy should have known better than to go in their cage or sanctuary. Yes he should have known better and kept out. But these are humans we are talking about and they have refused to to join the rest of the world and act civilized. Killing some...Jump to post
The correct answer is you better have more than one pie and peacan apple and pumpkin are staples. I’m having a sliver of each with ice cream and properly whipped cream.
I do really like this idea of sweet potato pie I must say.
Sounds like the late night arrivals last night had a pretty long night. https://boston.cbslocal.com/2018/11/16/logan-airport-snow-delays-november-16/ https://whdh.com/news/noreaster-causes-travel-headaches-at-logan-airport/ My buddy flew in on DL2525 coming back from a conference. I have a few questions about possible Term. A expansion. Please bear with me, I haven't been there in awhile, and forgive me If posted earlier. 1 Are all those cargo areas at the end of A in use ? 2 If they are, can they be relocated somewhere else on the property ? Please answer objectively. I am ...Jump to post
I've always preferred Delta or United but American didn't used to be as bottom of the barrel for me as it is now. I avoid them as much as possible and when I do fly them they are noticeably colder and less friendly towards customers with noticeably less comfortable aircraft and noticeably cheaper se...Jump to post
Why not just wait until closer to the travel date to book your flight? This is almost a year out and the tickets aren't even going to be at their best price right now.Jump to post
Should I buy an A380 or take my bike to the city center? The A380 loses in every respect, it would be a horrible financial burden on my next credit card payment. And darn hard to find parking for it in the city, too :D Anyway, back to non-sarcastic answers. Both are wonderful planes, but not only f...Jump to post
I’m surprised nobody has tried a nonstop from BKK. Thailand is an incredibly popular vacation destination from the US.Jump to post
It sounds like we’re just listing any airport with direct public transportation at this point regardless of distance. You won’t beat BOS, no it’s not a modern train like HKG but the silver line will have you from the terminal door to downtown in literally 5-10mins. And since we’re going wild and jus...Jump to post
Good riddence T7 is disgusting and a sorry excuse for a terminal. I’d literally prefer the port authority bus station and it is no place to spend your time before a flight considering most departing from there are 6-16 hours long. Forget the renovations that place is beyound repair tear it down ASAP...Jump to post
When flying Spirit wouldn't one expect a disorganized garbage experience in exchange for a lower fare?
I plan to continue booking flights on airlines that cost slightly more but don't make me feel like im on public transportation.
Ugh I get that people are voting with their wallets but I really hate this bare bones Y movement. An apathetic culture has been generated amongst the flying public where everyone expects a horrible experience no matter what and says F it it’s going to be awful no matter what so I might as well go wi...Jump to post
Usually I agree when posters say pilots shouldn’t be fired for small mistakes - but if you don’t fire pilots for this what do you fire them for?
Can’t think of many jobs where you almost kill hundreds and keep your job...: or did they get fired?
As an aside, I did not realize how popular YUL is for a connecting point to/from Europe from BOS. On my BOS-YUL flight the other day there were 25 people connecting to European cities, 19 of which were going to ATH alone. Yeah, YYZ is also a really popular connecting point to/from BOS. I flew to ZA...Jump to post
It says I’m middle class in Boston and I would consider myself middle class. The only place my money might go a little further would be in rural middle America or the south and I’d rather stick here where the great job opportunities and progressive companies are : ) I’m also single and 27 and on tra...Jump to post
I don't mean to stray from the topic but the internet and yelp has also pushed consumers away from Micky D's and Wendy's and the fast food chains of the past. People used to go to these places because they were cheap and you knew what you'd get - now you can just find the local hole in the wall with...Jump to post
Don't know off hand, but I'd be shocked if BKK wasn't in the top 3, or even #1. And whilst we're at it, what is your favorite 5th freedom route ? SIN-HKG-SFO (SQ) - for no real profound reason, other than I love HKG, am fascinated by HKG airport, admire SQ, and love SFO. The route brings them all t...Jump to post
Isn't DL getting 5 more gates from WN in 2019? Or do I have the timeline wrong on that? you are correct. Also, do 757s block adjacent gates at DL's BOS facilities? Standard turn time for a 757 would be right around an hour, so 1.5 hours doesn't seem like a significant waste of gate space. Delta has...Jump to post
I think dating and finding someone who you can connect with might work out best if you can find an autistic partner with similar experiences. I don’t mean to isolate you, I’m just thinking about what I might do in your shoes. Maybe there are groups or specific sites for this?Jump to post
It’s cool but will be tough at a lot of airports. I’m thinking of large airports in cold areas in North America and Europe and I don’t see where a lot of them would have space for this. You wouldn’t have it just sitting in the middle of a taxiway you’d need a whole ramp for this. At a busy airport y...Jump to post
Schedule is loaded into HA system: BOS-HNL 8:00am - 1:40 pm HNL-BOS 1:45pm - 6:00am Leaving and arriving into Terminal E according to the Globe article. That makes sense, was wondering where they were going to go. Makese sense as Terminal E is pretty quite at that time of day and you wouldn't want ...Jump to post
Icelandair and WOW are both candidates due to how their network works, especially FI as all their aircraft currently follow the same bank structure. There are at least two times a day (8-10 and 18-20 Icelandic time) that 90%+ of the fleet is in the air. I was thinking that but they don’t each have ...Jump to post

IMO DL is by far the best major in the states. The IFE is 2nd to none in the US and I greatly appreciate the options. 1st world problem I know, but I for one don't really feel like fumbling around with my laptop and making sure I have tons of pre-downloaded content for my trip. It seems that for a group of 40 who are only a couple minutes late and had showed up at the airport on time they could hold the flight an extra 5mins?
In general the story is vague and doesn't really add up.
This is why everyone should be using skiplagged, that way the airlines will learn their lesson on not taking advantage of people. I've been wanting to try skiplagged but I am nervous about a few things - Airlines flagging me and treating me poorly in the future if I need their help in some IRROPS s...Jump to post

DL has a huge problem in regards to Intl expansion out of BOS and that is lack of gates and lack of CBP in their terminal. Even when they take over all of terminal A, DL will still have fewer gates than B6 and when they use a widebody they have to block gates at an already limited terminal. B6 has ...Jump to post
I really enjoy connecting at ATL. The plane spotting is great and the food options are excellent as well. 757 by a mile. It pains me to see less and less 757s every time I travel. Aviation, while more efficient and environmentally friendly, has become so much less fun when my only options on 95% of US domestic flights are 737s and a320s. Bland, the toyota camrys of the skies. I wear flip flops pretty much anytime it's above 65 and I'm not going somewhere formal. They are extremely comfortable. I don't think it's inappropriate as there are many parts of the world where flip flops are the norm for all activities and have historically been so. The idea that they are dangero...Jump to post

Great to see this. DL has been opening these type of routes with depreciated 757/767s, cool to see cheap to operate 787s enter the mix via BA. I wish DL had some new 788's to throw on their TATL routes, much nicer than the old 757/767's they use now. Oh well, guess we'll have to wait for the 797 to...Jump to post
