Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery coming in April

My guess: 1) Tail stays the same, save for the removal of gold from the globe 2) Billboard titles on the fuselage (based on the Her Art Here and Star Wars schemes we've seen) 3) A blue dreamliner swoop across the whole fleet I think the swoop will be light blue (same color as the words, "Unite...

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery coming in April

Test flight scheduled for the middle of the night. 'Manual Reversion Test Hop' for the Flight Controls being removed for paint. The test flight should go smooth as they are putting on the same tabs that came off the airplane. I am pretty sure they are smart enough not to mess with any component tha...

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery coming in April

Painting of N37267 (737-800) at Amarillo is complete. The next thing they need to do is a test flight because they removed both tabs on the aileron and both tabs on the elevators. If the test flight is performed in the cover of darkness, then we can assume this aircraft is wearing the new livery. Th...

What is going on in Amarillo? Why are they painting a gold stripe and gold globe on that 737-800 (0267) Any chance they might be fudging the internal details in order to keep it a secret to everyone? I'm impressed with how well UA has kept this under wraps so far. Can't wait to see it and then the ...

Full strip and paint, including wings. More than likely the livery Evolution, For some reason they removed both aileron trim tabs and both elevator trim tabs on this 737. This will require a test flight. There is also chatter about a stripe being painted. Masking off wings to paint white areas, fus...

A topped-out aircraft mechanic at United makes $48.33/hr (overhaul or line maintenance, day shift). That is just slightly over $100,000 per year. Hopefully the AMFA mechanics at Southwest makes more with the new contract.
