NO, not in Australia at least. As for being a passenger I have had a mild fear of flying in the past, but I flew two days after the attacks and had no fear about being in the air at all.

RE: Why Were Terror Planes Almost Empty?

Yes, I had been wondering the same thing myself, and the ideas mentioned make a lot of sense ... pax numbers being down in general, hijackers reserving a number of seats themselves, and choosing planes with less pax so they could have more control. The process of self-checking in these days and sele...

I have had many aviation dreams both good and bad, but I don't remember most of them soon after. An interesting one that has recurred from time to time over the years is of being in the left hand seat of a light aircraft flying (I've never been in a light aircraft) - and it is situated at the first ...

It looks like the seating layout for the Saab 340. I do get claustrophobic in these aircraft, and I don't like to admit it! I am with 'Climbout' on this one, I endeavour to do exactly as mentioned above, if I have to fly in this aircraft. Strangely enough I don't get claustrophobic in the Dash 8 whi...

It does affect me when there is bad news in aviation. With air crashes there are often many people (say 100+) who die in the one accident, so it is very sad. The Concorde crash affected me the most, and there is so much media attention... there are still replays from time to time of the Concorde in ...

The reason I thought this was because Virgin Blue had a new B737 (VH-GBE) delivered in April, which was painted in the UK before flying to Australia. Also another delivery of a CRJ200 from Montreal to Australia was flown via Iceland and Munich. I imagine among the many reasons for this, is that ther...

They are upgrading their 767 fleet so it may have been sold to another airline but was yet to be repainted, or was it a new 767 delivery for Ansett on it's way to Australia..that's my guess.
