What I've heard from some Garuda people is that...
the 772s are delayed once again. Boeing will provide lease on 6 737-400s which are urgently needed back in Indonesia... this deal eliminates a fine Boeing would impose on the delay...

It prevents the aircraft from falling on it's tail when U load the plane up with baggage and not pax...

Even 747s use tail stands for their cargo versions... Search for some mishap photos... U see what I mean...

Aesthetics, noise (either favor loud or favour quiet), comfort.

For me, 737-200, love the shape, love the noise, and is still comfortable. Then got the 777-300. Impressive looks, very quiet, and damn comfortable.

Just personal tastes anyway.

I flew the A300/A310s many times from the 80s...
I think they're the only Airbuses that can feel like a Boeing... unless you're sitting in the rearmost section! Nothing about Airbus is better than Boeing, but it's just a comparison... Overall, they're OK... nothing special
