For us, it was $400 cheaper going out of DAY instead of CMH. We looked at PIT, CLE, and CVG as well, with DAY coming out cheapest. I guess it's cheaper out of DAY because it's a smaller airport, and there's less demand.

I saw a Comair CRJ in ATL in January. They do not go direct ATL-CVG, but they take the plane to Allentown or Harrisburg, PA first for example. Are they trying to put Comair (or ASA) aircraft on flights that aren't usually full with an MD-80 or 737-300?

I can see AirTran operating MD-80s, but they don't really need more than 5 or 6. I agree with Dripstick in that the police overreacted. That's just wierd!

Is there anything against using a scanner in an apartment overlooking the airport, or in a park adjacent to the runway? I'm going to SJU in a few weeks, and really don't want to get busted!

I think that DL bought this route off of Pan Am when they went out in 1991. I've wondered the same thing!

Not sure how successful it has been, but Mercedes-Benz HQ in Stuttgart may have something to do with it.

I heard that only some of the F-100s would be retired, and all of the MD-80s would be leaving. Hopefully, the F-100s will be around for a while.

The MD-80 I was on in Feb. 2001 from PIT-CMH wasn't really in the best shape. Maybe it was just one, and the rest are OK on the inside.

JonnyGT's right about the windows. I was on a CRJ in Jan. 2000, and had a terrible time looking out the window. Why did they design it like that??

Other than that, Comair's CRJs are nice, quiet, comfortable airplanes!  Smile

Trintocan- You're right about the fashion shows on the LHR-MBJ-KIN flights. When we got to Jamaica, we met friends who were on that flight (JM 2), and said that they were going to have it, but heavy turbulence cancelled it. I can see the 777-100 as something like a 747-SP in terms of range and passenger capacity (similar to what FlagshipAZ said.) You never know, we might see a 777-SP. Boeing might not want to use the -100 distinction though, because they haven't (yet) with the 757, 767, or 777, so they may use the -SP ...
