If you're talking commercial- St Croix, Virgin Islands (STX)- Had only about 4 gates in 1999, served DL, US, AA, and American Eagle. (DL has since pulled out.) Gulfport/Biloxi, MS. (GPT)- Had about 6 gates, and was using only commuter service when I was there in 1998. (flew in via ATL on ASA) From w...Jump to post
First and only (as of now)- 7/28/99 Northwest 68 DTW-AMS 747-400 Got on, and enjoyed every minute of it! Talked to the pilots for about 10 min., and also saw an AA observer that was takin the ride. When I looked out of the cockpit windows, I could see over the terminal building, and I'm thinking "Wo...Jump to post

I've seen their planes a couple of times- Once in CMH, the other in PHL. I guess they're a Charter/Passenger airline that uses 727-200s with winglets. Other than that, I don't know! A couple pics- N281US (must be ex- USAir 727s) <br><center><a href="/open.file?id=217984" target="_blank"><font color=...Jump to post
Also responding to the topic question- Maybe. Hopefully. I toured the campus in Late July of last year and thought it looked great!! I even got to go up in one of the 172s as an "observer". Not bragging, but, I've got the grades, if it matters. Not sure what I would try to major/ minor in yet. Maybe...Jump to post
Las Vegas in June, and either Daytona (we'll go into MCO) or Europe, this July or August.
Not sure what Airlines we'll be using yet.

Great trip report!
The A330 is great!! I'll be on one next week when I come home from SJU! I have been on 2 before, and loved both trips! I was on a 767 coming down and had a nice experience. (See my new trip report "US Airways DAY-CLT-SJU")

Tennis. I'm okay at it, although I don't think I'm too good. (The tennis pro says I am, so I must not be doing too badly!) I played Soccer and T-Ball when I was younger, but gave them up. I don't compete in, but like to ride bikes, swim, and occasionally jog. When I am at a beach with decent waves, ...Jump to post
1- Delta (1997)
2- Delta (2000)
3- US Airways
4- TWA (last scheme)
5- ATA (middle)
6- Sabena (last scheme)
7- British Airways
9- United (new)
10- USAir (red & blue colors)
I also like Air Jamaica (new), bmi, Cathay Pacific, and China Airlines schemes.
Nice trip report! I've been in that situation where you get bounced around, and then you suddenly go up (or down, I've done both.) I hate it when that happens! You got to see two movies on your flight! I wouldn't expect that on a SJU- Mainland US flight, but I guess I'm wrong! Sounds like there are ...Jump to post
Ok, I've got another one. Again, I wasn't on this flight, but I was supposed to be, had it not been for a change of plans. My Grandma and our cousin were going CMH-ATL a few years ago. My Grandma did most of her flying in the 3- and 4-engine aircraft era, but through me, had seen pictures of two-eng...Jump to post
I wasn't on this flight, but my aunt was, and she told me about it. I'm not sure how funny everybody will think it is, but I liked it!- My aunt and one of her friends were flying non-stop CMH-PHX a couple of years ago on America West. The friend, who had never flown before, was nervous about going, ...Jump to post
Thanks for the help! I was thinking that they would have the reading lights, FA call button, etc. on that panel, but because they were all on older planes, I thought it had some other purpose that you don't see on planes today. IMissPiedmont- I guess I should have specified what "things" referred to...Jump to post
I've seen these in pics of older planes, like 707s, 737-200s, etc. <br><center><a href="/open.file?id=043464" target="_blank"><font color="#EEEEEE" size="1" face="ARIAL, Helvetica, Geneva">Click for large version<br><IMG SRC="/photos/small/4/6/4/043464.jpg" ALT="Click here for full size photo!" bord...Jump to post
I can see AirTran operating MD-80s, but they don't really need more than 5 or 6. As for the 757, it would be interesting to see AirTran have them, and what kind of westward (maybe) expansion they would make, unless they kept it for high-traffic routes, like ATL-MCO or anywhere where they need more s...Jump to post
Great report! Comair's CRJs are nice, and I'm not sure if they have leather seats, but they may have changed things since I was last on one. (Jan. '00, Comair 5187 MCO-CVG) While the RJs are comfortable, I'd rather fly on a 727 anyday. It's one of my favorite planes, and they won't be around much lo...Jump to post
Nice Report! We were going to fly Continental to SJU next month, but we'll be taking US Airways via CLT instead. (It doesn't really matter to me, as long as I get to PR!) Enjoy San Juan, and the wonderful island of Puerto Rico! We went every year from 1994-2000, but we were unable to go last year. T...Jump to post
I agree with Dripstick in that the police overreacted. That's just wierd!
Is there anything against using a scanner in an apartment overlooking the airport, or in a park adjacent to the runway? I'm going to SJU in a few weeks, and really don't want to get busted!
I heard that only some of the F-100s would be retired, and all of the MD-80s would be leaving. Hopefully, the F-100s will be around for a while.
The MD-80 I was on in Feb. 2001 from PIT-CMH wasn't really in the best shape. Maybe it was just one, and the rest are OK on the inside.
The new reg.# for it is 9Q-CHA. The CRJ is a nice plane. I've been on 3 of them (all with Comair) and its a nice, quiet little RJ. The 757 flight- You'll probably have drink service, and you might get to watch some Delta Horizons, a nice little entertainment program with a sitcom, sometimes a music video (Delta VJ) and CNN In-Flig...Jump to post
Trintocan- You're right about the fashion shows on the LHR-MBJ-KIN flights. When we got to Jamaica, we met friends who were on that flight (JM 2), and said that they were going to have it, but heavy turbulence cancelled it. By the way, we left Rwy 26R instead of 27R in ATL as I said above. My bad!! ...Jump to post
I can see the 777-100 as something like a 747-SP in terms of range and passenger capacity (similar to what FlagshipAZ said.) You never know, we might see a 777-SP. Boeing might not want to use the -100 distinction though, because they haven't (yet) with the 757, 767, or 777, so they may use the -SP ...Jump to post
I know there have been several similar posts about this, but things have changed since they were posted. I'm an avid NASCAR fan, and a BIG Jeff Gordon fan. I'm wanting to know what you think about NASCAR. Some questions- Who's your favorite driver? Who will be the 2002 Champion? FOX or NBC- Which is...Jump to post
My mom saw Jerry Springer entering the Intercontinental hotel this summer while she was on a business trip in Chicago.
