I stayed at the Portofino Bay Hotel @ Universal Studios Orlando inJuly, which is a Loews Hotel. The food was good, but it was like $6 for a hamburger. The pool was amazing, with a small area of sand to act as a beach. It was shallow though, no deeper than 5 ft., and it closed about 7 hours early bec...Jump to post
I'm wanting to know the answer to the same question! Why do they have so many? Anyway, you're right about the "WA" registrations, they are ex-Western jets. Here's some more 2 letter codes. There were a lot of different ones for the L-1011 fleet. N733<b>DS</b> <br><center><a href="/open.file?id=16544...Jump to post
Another Catchphrase- Homer- "Whoo-hoo!!" Probably my favorite episode is when they go to Japan. "Godzilla-Related Turbulence" LOL American_4275- Cletus and his Dirt Farm!! Another thing about him is that he's got like 100 kids, which he calls out in order in the episode when Marge starts her pretzel...Jump to post
Aloha 737-200- You've got one hell of a point! <img src="/discussions/graphics/biggthumpup.gif" ALT="Big thumbs up"> You sometimes have to look at their personality, not just whether or not they look good, which is what people tend to do. I love Subways!! We use them anytime we're in a city that has one. I think it's a much easier way to travel (except when you're jammed in like sardines in a can!!) I've been on subways in... There was an Icelandair 757 in MBJ on 12/31. Could it be the same plane? I wasn't able to see the titles on it, but I knew it was an Icelandair 757.
12/24/01 Air Jamaica 58 ATL-MBJ Airbus A310-300 "Spirit of Negril" (not sure of reg. #) We got up at 5:30am, and left the Renaissance (spelling?) Hotel. On the shuttle, there was a DL MD-88 captain. I talked to him a little bit. Then, we checked in, went through security, and took the train to Conco...Jump to post
I usually get my homework done at school, so if I have any, there isn't a lot, which gives me a ton of free time. I would recommend an after-school activity, as many people mentioned above. I play tennis after school, and did Destination Imagination (a.k.a- Odyssey of the Mind.) last year. Sometimes...Jump to post
Aren't there any other really small, local carriers which fly to Isla Grande?? I thought so, but I can't remember, because its been a couple years since we went to Isla Grande when we were on vacation in Puerto Rico. My opinion: The A330 is the best plane in US's fleet in terms of entertainment!! You get: -5 or more movies to choose from -sitcoms & TV shows -CDs which are programmed so you can choose what track to listen to, instead of in order, as on any other plane -nice-sized screen for a PTV! I really liked ...Jump to post

Hey, great job! I was really getting into the story!! A couple suggestions that might help you out- I agree with Avilitigator. I don't think there are any trees in Antarctica. Mine would have to be Delta 1672 TPA-ATL N729DA in Oct. 1998. I got to watch this plane come in to TPA from the airport hotel, and got to chat with the pilots and see the lower galley after the flight. Awesome experience!! I'll never forget it! <br><center><a href="/open.file?id=045417" target="_bla...Jump to post
They fly the M11 from ATL to: MCO (DL 63) LGW (DL 58) CDG (DL 22) ...and CVG to LGW (DL 68) They were using it to TLV and Dubai from JFK, but that stopped, and JFK-TLV is being operated by El Al under a DL codeshare. They also took the MD-11 to Japan, but they stopped that too. I don't know when the...Jump to post
For my 100th post on A.net, I want do a trip report on my Concorde flight in 1995. I wanted this to be my first post, but gave up after continuously screwing it up. I apologize if the report sounds like bragging, but I wanted to share it with the people on A.net. In July 1995, I flew on the Concorde...Jump to post

Dlx737-200- Just in case you didn't know, the stations are in the center of Concourses A-E, and the trains run in a straight line, so there are no turns. The moving sidewalks Gnomon mentioned never have a crowd of people on them, at least when I've been there, so if you're late for your flight and t...Jump to post
It's a great plane! My favorite Airbus jet. I got to fly two of them last year on US (PHL-CDG and back- N670UW, N674UW), and if I could, I'd go on another A330 in an instant! If we go to Europe this summer, I want to be on a US A330. One thing I was curious about was part-way into the flight, they s...Jump to post
I had the "box-snack" expierience MCO-DCA on a 737-300 in July, and it had about the same things in it. I took USAirways flight 325 or 329 CLT-MCO this summer, on N625VJ, We were pushing back, and the captain came on during the safety video, and said "Well folks, we've got an air-conditioning proble...Jump to post
It sounds like when Pan Am, TWA, and Delta based 727s out of FRA for Inter-European flights. Makes you wonder if passengers are going to like getting off a widebody 747, and connecting to an A320. Why would NW replace their 747s on Trans-Pacific flights with A330s? Are the A330s more efficient? Delt...Jump to post
You know you're from CMH when you get thrilled to see a 757 from anyone other than Delta. (United and America West occasionally bring 757s in) You know you're from CMH when it's a thrill to see a safety video on your departing flight. (We get 757s and US and UA A319/320s, that's about it) You know y...Jump to post
What airline that you've never been on before would you like to fly in the future??
I've always wanted to fly Singapore Airlines, British Airways, Air New Zealand, Air Jamaica (which I will in December), QANTAS, and Continental (only "Big Six" airline I haven't flown on.)
Some more info on what Navion said-
One incident was in 1989, when the Concorde lost a chunk of its tail, and landed in Sydney, Australia, after departing from New Zealand, and was accelerating to Mach 2 at the time.
The other problem, I didn't know about.
I'm going to Jamaica in December. Pretty easy to remember what planes we're on!
Delta 757 CMH-ATL
Air Jamaica A310 (new one for me!!) ATL-MBJ
Air Jamaica A310 MBJ-ATL
Delta 757 ATL-CMH
I know how shocked I was yesterday morning, flipping through the channels, but I can't possibly imagine how terrible that would be- To see the passengers, smiling, ready to go on vacation, or to go home, and actually being on the plane before departure, and then seeing that plane, with those people,...Jump to post
