well, using the above as examples, the 328 has a light tower behind it, which either is leaning about 3 degrees to the left, or is distorted by the lens, which was the point I was making in my post. Obvioulsy the screener(s) of this photo recognized this fact and approved the photo, thus answering m...Jump to post
How does the screening process handle pictures taken by a wide-angle lens, maybe something in the 19-28mm range. The main subject of the photo could appear level, but buildings and such in the distance and to the left or right edge wouldn't be. Would this be cause for a bad angle rejection?Jump to post
thanks you guys! That rocks. It was in a tough place, but I got some shots of it.
MHY was also out looking at their new 757 this afternoon, taking their crews for tours, we managed to get onto the ramp and I got some great shots.
I love the attitudes of the Canuks when it comes to aviation.
I was so stoked to see the DC-10's when I was in LAS <br><center><font color="#EEEEEE" size="1" face="ARIAL, Helvetica, Geneva"><a href="/open.file/268815/L/" target="_blank">View Large</a> <a href="/open.file/268815/M/" target="_blank">View Medium<br><IMG SRC="/photos/small/5/1/8/268815.jpg" ALT="C...Jump to post
have you given thought to renting a scanner? It can be done for a decent price, here in the states I rented a Nikon Coolscan 4000 for three days, the cost was $75 US.Jump to post
will this mean Hawaiian gets rid of their last DC-10s?Jump to post
maybe they will take some of their 738s lying around BFI I counted 5 yesterday afternoon.Jump to post
get the Nikon <img src="/discussions/graphics/smile.gif" ALT="Smile"> I think this is really a "Chevy vs. Ford" type topic. Either one is a fine camera, I could go on and on about why I think the Nikon is a better buy, but too each their own <img src="/discussions/graphics/smile.gif" ALT...Jump to post
Why do these types of issues always come down to; "Go find another site" Or, "Users who get deleted?" Is there something wrong with voicing an opinion? I understand that the screeners donate their time to the site, hey, so do the contributors. Both need to work in harmony or the site would never wor...Jump to post
I want to voice my displeasure with the screening process. Before yesterday's database crash I had three new pictures added to the database, they went through the normal que, got the approval of three screeners, and were added. So....I ask you this. WHY ARE THOSE SAME PICTURES NOW REJECTED? I think ...Jump to post
Andy, The image looks okay, I think <img src="/discussions/graphics/smile.gif" ALT="Smile"> This one was getting a lot of hits, too! I just got a screeners email telling me that one of those photos, which was accepted earlier, is now "corrupt" and the photo was rejected.Jump to post
Oops, I didn't see this. Will we need to reupload the accepted shots as well, or just new stuff?Jump to post

Too bad it was the plane I photographed last week, but it was still exciting. Here is the photo:
what is ironic is that I shot (what might have been) the same plane, in what was my last shot of a great trip to LAS, and it gets quite a few views: <br><center><font color="#EEEEEE" size="1" face="ARIAL, Helvetica, Geneva"><a href="/open.file/268858/L/" target="_blank">View Large</a> <a href="/open...Jump to post
and it turns out to not be "popular?" I know as photographers we all have pictures we take that we are really proud of...maybe it was being in the right place at the right time, or a favorite type of plane, or a special color scheme...you get excited to share it online, it gets uploaded, and nobody ...Jump to post
Just wanted to show you guys the end of a beautiful day at YVR, from my hotel room.
