The SAS route to BKK and SIN is a daily flight, SQ only operates a few times a week and so is Thai doing.
It seems as there is a market for all three here,but TG and SK do have codeshare on their flights to BKK.

I read that article too in the november issue of Airliner World.It seems a bit strange to me that they would actually do this..maybe to boost sales on other jets in this segment like the 739,762 or who knows? I can't imagine it was a misunderstanding in the article....

Yes, they will soon be replaced with 330s and 343s. The first two 343s are already delivered SE-REA & SE-REB.

Nope.they cannot be fitted onto older 747 classics.
That would require additional work to the wingtip.

The IGS approach to rwy 13 was worldfamous.That's why.
It is no more,it vanished in 1998.It was probably the trickiest approach in the world.Have you ever tried to land there? Didn't think so.  Big thumbs up

Linate did have ground radar but for some reason not in use! The animation shows the departing MD87 to veer off to the left but that's not what happened,it crashed almost straight ahead in the departing direction.
The Cessna did come from a taxiway onto the runway.

Why not a batch of 762:s for intra european flights that require more seats than the 739 can manage?
I imagine the 739 will be a workhorse for KLM the next 20 years.Then they would have the 739/762/772/773.

Yep.I agree,they have just bought two new 744:s
HS-TGA and HS-TGB.The 743:s are still not very old and they will probably hang around for four-six years I guess.Unless Thai Airways economy gets better or worse dramatically!

Finnair will commence HEL-BKK-HKG on february 16th 2002.Equipment will be their MD-11. It's a pity SAS discontinued their service to HKG it would have been nice to fly with them! But maybe in a few years maybe they start again who knows... Last time I was there in 99 I had to use Thai, but next time...

I think SAS could have got the 777 if the deliveries of the 737:s had been going as they should have,but it didn't and SAS lost a lot of money waiting for their new planes.It was on television once about this. And of course the A340 was ideal choice for SAS instead of the smaller 767:s as loads were...
