She's parked outside on of SAA's hangars,I saw the jet last week as we departed from 03L..didn't get any reg but it looked as if it was stranded there since last year.Sad indeed, anyone know the future for this particular MD?
Jump to postI've tried the internet booking of SQ once and it worked out just fine. But like in this case, it would have been a little easier to sort things out it he had just made a printout of his booking!
Jump to postDid you also know that SAS wanted Mc Donnell Douglas to build the 717?? or at that time it was named the MD-95. They even wanted to be launch customer and then suddenly they dropped out of it. And according to the latest Airliner World issue SAS is thinking about getting rid of the 736 because they ...
Jump to postYou will also see Air France 777-300ER as soon as they are delivered. That is of course if they send it there..
I bet KUL would like to see SAS, but I doubt BKK-KUL is underserved these days.
Jump to postWhy did AF change their order from the ER version to the standard??
I guess Air Gabon is getting their new 744 from a leasing company since Boeing doesn't show any orders from them.
Incredible..I think it's time for Iberia to get some new 747s...Nice with a bunch of 747-400QXLR....! Well one can only dream about that!
It's nice though to see an old bird like this kept in mint condition, they wont be around for much longer.

I don't understand japanese but I can read "'The Fullflat Seat"... go figure what they're gonna announce
"In thrust we trust" CFM56
This whole PIA and 777 order seems odd, no official announcement from the manufacturer nor the customer. Although Airlinerworld is citing that they have ordered the new aircraft with deliveries beginning in 2003. We need to have a stakeout at Boeing Field <img src="/discussions/graphics/biggrin...
Jump to postCool! Ironically Finnair was launch customer for the MD-11 so now they'll have both first and last delivered pax version....!
Interesting..Nice to see them buying slightly used but cheap aircraft and save some money

I'm in south africa next week.Flying from JNB to CPT with SAA but unfortunately I'm stuck on a 737-800..not so lucky.
CPH-BKK-SIN in april this year on a SAS 340 in business, I had a few cocktails some dinner and after that I woke up when it was time for breakfast before landing in Bangkok. So it went quite smooth...flying time was 10+ hrs and the SIN-BKK leg 2 hrs. There was a lot of food served on this flight... "...

Finnair domestic between Vaasa (VAA) and Kokkola (KOK) is ~100 km
and the flying time is 15 min. they fly this with an MD83.

Jump to postAnd what aircraft was that!? I don't think Boeing takes one out of the box and lends it to them...Or they had a 777 that BA returned?
Has anyone spotted this?
You mean when they were about to dock with the airbridge or what? "attack the finger" . . . ?
That's airport security in Italy...
The airport is facing charges for the loss of lives and aircraft because of the inoperative ground radar they acquired ages ago from Norway but never installed for some reason. At first they tried to blame the Cessna pilot for the crash but they failed and the true reason came out from the fog..
Hi, I flew in june on PP-VRB from CPH to LHR in F class, nice service and of course in that class nothing to complain about, well actually the flight went too fast thats all!

SPRINGBOK, I can guarantee you a nice and enjoyable trip on the SAS 340s, no matter if you travel biz or economy, I've tried biz and it's most relaxing! Food, service and comfort is excellent! Enjoy your trip! Coincidentally I'm travelling to JNB from FRA the same date, although I'm flying with Luftha...
Jump to postWell there is an explanation, the A340-200 and 300 series has a poorer climb performance than for example the 500 and 600 series. This is due to the low thrust from the engines. So they need more time to gain altitude. But keep in mind that it doesn't make the A340 unsafe to travel on <img src="...
Jump to postWell, again very nice reading! Nice one! Enjoy while it's clean!

It is sad to see what they can do! I think it's the same with Finnair and the employee unions here in Finland, they can really do things..bad things..
I remember reading in a Airways article about lavs when in the good old days they actually dumped waste from the airplane, they had cute discreet signs saying "do not use over populated areas" <img src="/discussions/graphics/biggthumpup.gif" ALT="Big thumbs up"> Imagine reading that on the lav ...

Jump to postThe 767 is a comfortable airplane and the SAS variants are from early nineties so they aren't too old and the cabin layout is good too so I believe they will hold on to them until they find the times good enough to convert the options for more 333s and 343s,btw how many options do they have?
According to sasflightops the first 330 should arrive this month,It is much possible that they arrive later than that because they haven't updated the arrival info for a long time.October could be more accurate.

Iberia? they had at least one -200 from 1971 in service a few years ago.
