On the Dash8, engage autopilot if it isn't already on, don oxygen masks and initiate an emergency descent.

simultaneously, turn 45degrees off course for 1 minute,then turn back to original heading to parallel the airway.

declare and emergency and descend to 14,000' or 10,000' if available.

not sure if it's a Bombardier operating procedure, but at my company, once the control locks are engaged, the F/O does not operate the rudders while taxiing.

the nose wheel is one of the weakest points in this sweet airplane.

well, here in the caribbean..... tee hee :p I lived Canada a while back, both in Toronto and Winnipeg. to be quite honest, I would trade the heat any day for the cold. when it's too hot and humid, you feel like you are stuffed up, can't breathe, your clothes stick to your skin and the sun burns you....
