The reporter who wrote that article should be fired. This is what media and social media has come to. Reporters who don’t check or go to the source of the news to find out the truth. That is one of the reason Trump makes the news media a fool at every turn and call them FAKE NEWS. reporters need to...Jump to post
I find D much more convenient, and I have no clue what makes E more prestigious. Do you miss taking the train with the ringing cow bells?Jump to post
I don't know if LX has that many non-Schengen-ZRH-non-Schengen Rotations. Using B/D is more useful, as they are double usage gates.Jump to post
The press release is a bit weird, they closed a deal for 8 E190s (E1/E2) from Helvetic. This is in addition to 4 E190s which are under a long-term wetlease. However, there are/were more than 4 E190s flying for Swiss. As such I read it that they are replacing the 3 Q400s opb OS. 1 is supposed to be r...Jump to post
The illegal part is the consequences for the employees, which are "transferred" to other bases. In most European countries, you can't just change the place of work, meaning you have to allow for commuting or make a payout to make the person redundant (usually expensive). But in this case ...Jump to post
Curious not being a lawyer, are you allowed to continue with a course of action after a court has found against you and the appeal has not been heard? Shouldn't things stop until it is decided? Basically, as I read it, closing the base is not illegal per se. The illegal part is the consequences for...Jump to post
Don’t forget the German and Polish parts of the company filed for bankruptcy protection. There were reports in the German media that the German subdivision has found a buyer and that the contract should be signed on Friday. (Their AOC expires end of month).Jump to post
DEL - YVR traveling time is going to be 20h45min, with a layover time in KEF of 4h 20min. Leaves Delhi at 7am and arrives Vancouver at 6.15pm. Eastwards, travel time increases despite a tighter layover in KEF of just 2h25min. Air Canada non-stop service YVR-DEL is just 14 hours 10 min, 13h 50min on...Jump to post
The Q400s were stopped, because 3 will leave the fleet end of Oct, doesn't make sense to paint them for 3-6 months. The rest of the ex-AB A320s will go to paint this winter, as will be some more 4U painted aircraft. No clue about the 738s opb X3. But I guess the oldest Q400s will leave? Now only 2 ...Jump to post
Whatever aircraft they choose, they need to update there business class. I love there service in all 4 cabins, though business class can use a new updated cabin. There is a new one coming with the 77X. Back to topic, I reckon this order would be for 2022/23-2026 or so, but I would have expected a b...Jump to post

Not sure if this is really good for the Cityline employees. They do have lower wages than mainline but still higher than Eurowings. And of course it's all about money. After Eurowings took over all routings outside of FRA and MUC, Cityline is currently operating only feeders to the hubs and will re...Jump to post

LH owns all their A220s, so there are no A221s on the lease market as LX is the (currently) only operator. I suspect KE owns their A223s as well, but I think BT announced plans on SLBs, however as far as I know for H2 2018 and/or 2019. So there might be no leased A220 so far.Jump to post
It’s the standard LH product. Just different contracts for the crew. However, it will go back to mainline in the next years.Jump to post
I read somewhere, that every arriving passenger is subsidised by 40€. Hence the cheap prices.Jump to post
I've read today, that Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter plans to get rid of all its A320, which they took after the grounding of Air Berlin. They will probably be handed over to Eurowings/Germanwings. In that case LH could take back some of its own A320 from EW/GW-fleets back to the mainline, without re...Jump to post
LH is keeping them longer due to late deliveries of its NEOs. The question is how long, but I also bet it will be maintenance.Jump to post
I can't believe that there will be more than 2-3 big players long term in VIE. So basically 1-2 have to go out of OS/EW, OE/FR, VY/VK, W6.
VK and OE are pouring in the highest investment, Wizz has/had the first mover advantage and maybe the lowest cost structure.
Probably talking about the "new" ex-AB frames, which are a bit different, i.e. no screens, thus the FAs have to do the security demonstration.Jump to post
TP with the new owners is highly unlikely. OU and JP don't bring much to the table, could be done via Eurowings themselves. If the Norwegian Deal (IAG) gets through, I reckon that LH will respond somehow and I see Jet2 and Blue Air and even Wizz as possible targets to expand Eurowings (and stay numb...Jump to post
Actually, the areas where the Germans and the English go are mainly separated. If you spend time in Cala Ratjada for example, all road sign advertisements are German. Other parts are more English dominated. So it’s very appealing to parts of the society who want the warmth without the Need for using...Jump to post
I dont understand why if you go to book a flight from NYC-DEL on skyteam they still try to route you through rome on AZ. (I am talking about a flight for December 2018). If you buy this ticket and the JFK-Italy flight is no longer running would you be rebooked on DL or AF/KLM? If you book via DL or...Jump to post
I can’t see U2 being allowed to swallow the LIN station of AZ. And given the highly political process (and objectives), focusing on intercontinental connections and staff, I see W6 with limited chances. So my bet, in case it’s sold at all (knowing it’s Italy), is on LH. But probably not selling is m...Jump to post

They also applied for PEK-HAM ... still waiting for news about this. They already did it for SS18, where Mostar won and got 2 weekly flights each to both DUS and STR. There were talks in the FDH press (one of the possible destinations) that it would mean a flight to DUS, so DUS is the most likely for KSC. Maybe another frequency to HAM/STR/MUC. VIE is too close as an...Jump to post

They signed a letter of support (valid for 18 months) and the German press reported that it is likely (>50%) binding under German law. Would be a huge blow to EY if this view is validated by a court.Jump to post
There are reasons, why AB lost more than 10€ per passenger. Fact is, loads, especially in Y have been incredibly low at the LH flight. barely more than a 100 passengers on the plane.
It's a perfect route for the A321LR if EW (or U2, or B6 or someone else) gets it.
The 330neo has barely a chance at LH. They plan to fly the LH/LX 343 to 2025, and the same is rumored to be happening to the OS 763/772 with some used 772s replacing the oldest 763s.
So the question is, what will they order for 2025. I doubt it will be 339s.
