Would guess: Europe is smaller than North America no need for a 5-6 hours flight type of plane carring 180 pax like we use in the USA-

Transat have 4 airbus 330, 3 are 332 with a 3-3-3 configuration and 1 A333 which configuration is 2-4-2 those are amzing aircraft... little tight if you are over 6 foot tall... the A313 is a 3-3-3 configuration and little small for my taste for transantlantic crossing

an 772LR wouldn't be fully loaded on fuel to do a 8.5 hours flight back to CDG... if a a 343 can takeoff a A332/3 or a B777 can take off with enough fuel to go to CDG
