Re: Boeing '797' doesn't exist yet. One airline already says it wants it first

Once they use up 797 could they not go to a letter in the middle? 7A7 wouldn't float, someone else is well known for their use of "A" but 7B7, 7C7, etc. doesn't have a bad ring to it.

Re: 787 Walls moving in turbulence

I've had two recent 787 flights and did notice any movement at all, and one of them bumped around quite a bit over eastern Canada. The one time it's ever caught my eye was on a CX A332 from SIN to HKG, where from the rear of the aircraft forward you could see a lot of movement. However, in several o...

Re: Delta Pan Am 747 Retrojet & Farewell Tour?

Just a sidebar: the originally scheduled aircraft for the inaugural flight to LHR had the usual Pratt engine issues of the time and they had to substitute in Clipper Victor, the 747 that went on to perish in Tenerife. Fame and infamy for the same airframe.

Re: Delta Pan Am 747 Retrojet & Farewell Tour?

I think that middle one with the black Delta title would work well. Sure, it doesn't make financial sense but I'd love to see it and I'd buy a model as soon as it came out.

Re: Can Crews use onboard wi-fi?

I take it there are missives telling you what you can or can't use the cockpit wifi for, or are you able to check the baseball scores, for example?

Re: How will the aviation industry change if MH370 is never found?

If it were found tomorrow or next week or whenever, how long is the digital media in the recorders good for, especially submerged for years in cold salt water? They might be able to ascertain from recovered wreckage whether there was the theoried fire, or not, in the electronics bay but if no sign o...

Re: DY 787--Single vs Dual Jet Bridge Use

I'll chime in. I just flew ARN-JFK last week and boarding was quick and finished early with just the one door. 788 was probably 95% full. Getting off at JFK was a lot slower though though breezing through T-1 customs made up for it.

Re: Alitalia Cash Flow

I flew them for the first time two weeks ago, FCO-VCE. The counter staff were grumpy but the in flight crew were quite nice. Pity but they've been slogging along for too many years now.

Re: Norwegian Considering Buffalo, Baltimore, and Raleigh

I'd gladly take their flight from Buffalo, were it to materialize. Being in Upstate NY going to BUF is easier and cheaper to drive to than shlepping to JFK (sometimes you can connect cheaply to JFK from SYR on B6, but not all the time). I fly to Europe once a year so I realize that's only two seats ...

Re: Would PanAm have refreshed their livery if they were still around?

I think the Meatball would have survived also, and even their last livery would have looked great on some 77Ws. Then perhaps a retro livery with the blue cheatline. One can dream.
