Re: AA Expansion at CLT

NRT would be only Asian route if any with a 788? CLT - Asia is pretty much a non-starter for the foreseeable future - there is little local demand, few unique connections and overflies every other hub... Aren't they building a lengthy new runway specifically to lure Asian service? By the way....the...

AA Expansion at CLT

With the addition of new concourses and runways at CLT, what new routes might AA come up with from the Queen City? Several new routes around the Midwest in the last few years have performed well, including MSN, CID, PIA, SGF, and RAP. SHV and TOL are starting later this year, but some other cities t...

Re: A350 Dead In North America?

Timing indeed. Within the mergers of the US3, each was split on future wide body orders. (A350s for United and US Airways, B787s for NW, AA, and CO). This all resulted in a glut of widebody orders and left the airlines scratching their heads as to which to take first, if at all. The 787 also has hel...

Re: A340 at MLI (Quad Cities International)

Up until this year, they did indeed use Mark Cuban's 767-200 on this charter. I've always seen that parked at B10, but I was shocked to see this behemoth on the ramp this week. Either way, it's our one interesting planespotting event of the year here in MLI.

The Future of ExpressJet

ExpressJet has had a dismal few years; losing CRJ-200s to Endeavor and it's parent company SkyWest, losing ERJ-145s to CommutAir and Trans States, while still maintaining two pilot groups. A SkyWest FO once told me that the purchase of EV by OO was simply to gain easy access to EMB-175 orders. With ...

Re: AA dropping Qatar Eithad codeshare

I'd like to see Royal Jordanian capitalize on this. They now will be the only Middle-Eastern carrier flying to the US that codeshares with a US network carrier. An AMM-DFW or AMM-LAX would be a nice way to keep bringing traffic from small Gulf markets to the US under the OW/AA banner.

Re: LOT to start Budapest- New York

Would a EWR-BUD or JFK-BUD be in range for a DL or UA 757? The 75 is really the right airplane for this, if it can reach. Is it??!!? Just because you say so?? Firstly, thank you to the thought police for calling out this colossal misuse of free speech. My mistake. The 757 has proven itself time and...

Re: Skywest EAS gets Pueblo, applies for Quincy, Cape Girardeau

Is it pretty much a foregone conclusion that UIN could get ORD again? IMO service to STL is pretty useless, because it's not even a 2 hour drive and because STL really isn't a hub city like ORD is. I think UIN, as well as CGI, IRK, OWB, MWA, and TBN, would be much better off flying to ORD than STL, ...

Could Meridiana Be Italy's New Main Airline?

With the potential and (possible) imminent collapse of Alitalia, Meridiana would be Italy's largest (Italian-based) carrier. Could we see major growth from Meridiana to cover the lost AZ flying?

Re: The Future of the CRJ

Due to the strong standing of scope clauses at AA/UA/DL, as well as the delays to the MRJ and E175E2 programs, I wouldn't be surprised to see a resurgence of CRJ700/900 orders in the coming years, especially as airlines become desperate to retire 50 seaters. Speaking from AA's perspective, the CRJ70...

Re: Air Wisconsin Signs 5-Year CPA with United

I've heard somewhere that the AA/MQ contract states that if any Eagle carrier gets any more E175s, it has to be Envoy. Can anyone confirm?
