All I know is that they are in for a challenge to build a new airport whilst the exisiting one is still operating. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that this will be done on time as nothing in New York gets built swiftly.

If LATAM was smart, they could do a BSA with QR on their DOH-LUX-GRU-EZE-UIO-MIA-LGG-DOH routing. Asset light approach is the best one these days in such a tough environment.

AA’s MO is just to be a belly carrier and not a combination one. AA cargo prides itself as a specialist belly carrier with connectivity between Europe/Asia and South America. Besides investing in freighter ops is very expensive and there are more headaches involved for so little return on the invest...

Interesting one for PIT, possibly getting DOH before LHR. As for LAS, I'm not sure how this route will work operationally in summer, given the hot n' high conditions. If done right, I could see ISP as what STN is to LHR in terms of pure freighter carriers operating into a nearby major city airport thats only 1 hour away from one another. But right now there isnt any infrastructure to support this.

Could ISP become a major cargo hub? I think it would be possible with the right amount of infstructure investment. Freighter carriers would rejoice over the reduced pricing than what they recieve in JFK.

I forgot to mention that you can probably see both carriers operating into HNL right now under their cargo arm. I am sure they have operated cargo charters into HNL in the past.

Both QR and EK are very popular in the equine transport world.

I believe it when I see it.

I personally feel that is more commercial viability with the SFO launch than the LAS launch. Besides the LAS market can be served via B6 or AA connections ex LAX or DFW.

After inserting a dummy booking, it will take 31 hours and 23 minutes on QR. The quickest routing was BEY-DOH-LAX-HNL. The routing alone is making me tired. Not too sure if there is much of a demand to warrant its own flight on either carrier but I could be wrong.

Its due to the bilateral agreements between Qatar and Canada. I believe QR is only limited to a certain amount of flights per week.

It is not definitely confirmed but from what I heard, QR A3510 may replace QR A359 on Doha - Haneda sector early next year. I could see QR expanding to CLT as they tend to align their destinations with major AA gateways. The only exception being the proposed DOH-LAS-DOH route. What about Urumqi? No European airline serves there and the main connection from Europe is through Astana or Almaty. BA's 50 year game plan is moving into Terminal 8, AA will finally build it out to intentional size. I dont think holding onto Terminal 7 is a asset light approach to things. As this is the way moving forward in ther airline industry, besides; the rent in JFK is astronomical.
