Re: DFW-SBA PICS

You haven't sat in the AA 319 Coach, I assume. I have once, in the first (bulkhead) row of economy, DFW-ATL. At least for that length flight, it was comfortable (and I have a notoriously un-padded rear end). The IFE helped I suppose. That's Economy+ (or whatever AA calls it). The main coach cabin i...

Re: What's Going On In Nashville? - 2018

Revisiting the question of whether AA would consider adding a PHX flight, WN’s route to PHX runs over 90% full most months, up to 95% during busy months and down to around 87% in slow months. That seems to show great demand, especially since WN runs 3 flights a day during most (if not all) of the y...

You wanna save the A380? You wanna see A380s in service with US airlines? Switch JFK and EWR to a congestion pricing model. Done. Do the same in Europe and Japan and the A380 will thrive. What we saw (the AA/US Airways merger) likely would have still played out even if AA had a BNA hub, however, the question would have been whether to keep the BNA or CLT hub. Unfortunately, I think CLT would have won out because it is better situated for east coast n/s traffic and it likely would ha...

AA’s BNA hub was really interesting. It wouldn’t have lasted regardless I’m sure. Supposedly they closed it because lack of local passengers, and early 90s recession. Throwing up a white flag in SFO and Southern California, and circling the wagons in SEA? More like paving the way for the obvious AS/B6 merger so both companies can make a boat load of money. I was told the reason why AA doesn’t do PHX from BNA, is because it would jeopardize their successful LAX flight. You’d lose connecting PAX to PHX, rather than LAX. That makes sense. I don't go to LA very often so not sure if Eagle still flies to some of the cities they used to going north of LAX. ...

In March, it looks like E75's are: LGA 3x out of 5, JFK 1x out of 2 (both were ER4's for awhile), CLT 2x out of 8, MIA 1x out of 3. Surprisingly (to me anyway) PHL is 4x E-190 4x out of 5. An article in Airliner World (I think that was the magazine) stated that VA's vision for international focus was no further east than New Zealand or west than Thailand. That doesn't leave them many options other than China/Japan, etc. and there's quite a bit of competition already.
