Well, according to the “first layover” phrasing, she was routed STL-LYS-CDG. LOL. I don’t expect much from local media, anything to get viewers, but they could have verified this in about 20 seconds. I sent a message to the reporter. Let's see if she does her journalist duties to find out this stor...Jump to post

For a long time SY has ignored the obvious MSP-STL-CUN/MSP-IND-CUN markets. I too believe this is an SY announcement. They could be taking over more Apple Vacations or FUNJET flying as well Adam Would STL br hyping this up if it was just Sun Country taking over the Apple and Funjet routes? IIRC the...Jump to post

New airline announcement tomorrow. My guess is Spirit or JetBlue, doubt it would be a major international announcement.

I saw it parked Friday over near the end of C. Not sure where they are doing boardings though. A15 seems tight to get back to.
With STL-IND being less than a 4 hour drive, I just can't imagine why anyone would opt to fly it rather than drive it, especially since they're both cities where you'd more than likely need to rent a car once you land. I get why you'd fly STL-MDW/ORD - parking at a downtown Chicago hotel can be 70 b...Jump to post
Apparently the stop in Athens was not a result of duty time but was instead Shabbat-related. The stop in Gander meant they couldn't make it all the way to Israel before the start of Shabbat. At least according to passenger @Mark_N_Jackson on Twitter. So are the pax just stranded in ATH until Shabba...Jump to post
It seems that the legacy carriers are not big fans of continuing flight numbers (e.g. MSN-DTW-DCA) or at least they aren't so much any more, they used to be. But Southwest specifically loves the continuing flight number, but doesn't do a lot of those out and back flight numbers. It always struck me...Jump to post
The WOW flight yesterday ended up diverting to BLV because of the severe thunderstorms we had. Then headed back over to STL about 2 hours later. Man, that must've sucked for everyone on board. Especially for any arriving pax who live around there. So close and yet so far from home. Assuming there's...Jump to post
Which incident? http://avherald.com/h?article=4b7725fb&opt=0 -that incident-. The airframe damage does not look bad enuf to scrap the bird. Maybe they just want to wait in hopes that noone will identify the aircraft as the one where a lady died. Why? The average passenger doesn't know the tail ...Jump to post
I work near the airport, we are right under the approach for 30L/R. I was in a conference room when I heard something louder than usual approaching, and soon this DC-10 appeared: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/OMEGA10/history/20180606/1400Z/KSAT/KSTL Any idea what it's for? The schedule does change later in the year with WOW arriving into KEF at 430 in the morning allowing to a morning connecting bank. Be interesting to see what schedule ultimately sticks. I hope this time doesn't stick and it goes back to the current one. No one is sleeping now on a flight that early...Jump to post
Apologize, I was a bit lazy on that post. Did the research, it varies from 85 to 115 minutes depending what US airport it is. Pretty quick compared to legacies long haul acft. The WOW business model is definately an interesting smart one. The problem with the business model that WW does not really ...Jump to post

No gate on WW167 to STL this morning, took a bus to a remote stand. There were only about 50 people on the flight, so everyone had a row to themselves. I assume the load was low because people flew out on last week to Europe and haven't yet made their way back to the states, hopefully those numbers ...Jump to post
Thanks for the review! Can you describe the breakdown of the passengers? Were they all plane geeks? Age? Going to Iceland or connecting? Thanks again Age wise, it was definitely all over the place. Haha no, was some local school kids or something. Should't be complaining, I got free cake, cookies and Ted Drewes. The only time anyone flying WOW has received free food ;) Let me guess, gooey butter cake? Just in case they didn't already think we're just a backwoods US city, we'll go ahead and dr...Jump to post
Last August, WOW made the announcement that they would be serving STL with a nonstop flight to KEF starting May 17th. It would be a big deal, as it is STL's first nonstop flight to Iceland, and our first nonstop flight to Europe in 15 years - AA ended London service around 2003. I had always wanted ...Jump to post

It's departed. See above. Huh, weird. Looks like WOW does something weird with flight numbers, and doesn't use the actual one or something. Hope that's it. Wonder if the "PF" at the end means positioning flight? Probably will switch to the regular flight number once the return segment sta...Jump to post

Hasn't departed yet? I can't imagine WOW is going to want this delayed too much, they have to make an excellent first impression on a bunch of people who've never flown WOW before.

I had a question leading up to this. The Braves were in PHL last weekend and I never saw the charter # go from PHL to anywhere in New York on FA. Given that the cities are fairly close I wondered if the team charted buses? They probably took the train. The Nats take the train when they go to Philly...Jump to post
A UA flight attendant is under investigation after passengers reported she was drunk on a flight. I know that charter customers have their choice of airports, and I'm sure they prefer to use LGA, but I wonder why DL didn't just offer them a discount to use their JFK facility. I know someone who swears they are on a "nonstop" flight from St. Louis to Italy (FCO maybe? Not sure where, doesn't matter) later in the year. I asked this the other day in another thread. They fly in a few days before on another airline, or deadhead on their airline to get as close as they can (like maybe to FRA in this case) then take another airline for the short hop to the origin city.Jump to post
Flying out of STL last week I can't help but think what a ghost town. I wish I could have experienced it when it was full of TWA planes and activity. So what about when the new city is half a world away? I guess same thing, except a cargo plane instead of a truck? How about crew? Like when WW starts STL-KEF next month. Fun fact about anc as connecting hub. You do not need to clear customs in anc to connect. Leftover law from the fuel stop days. How does that work?
