With STL-IND being less than a 4 hour drive, I just can't imagine why anyone would opt to fly it rather than drive it, especially since they're both cities where you'd more than likely need to rent a car once you land. Apparently the stop in Athens was not a result of duty time but was instead Shabbat-related. The stop in Gander meant they couldn't make it all the way to Israel before the start of Shabbat. It seems that the legacy carriers are not big fans of continuing flight numbers (e.g. MSN-DTW-DCA) or at least they aren't so much any more, they used to be. But Southwest specifically loves the continuing flight number, but doesn't do a lot of those out and back flight numbers. It always struck me...

How unsafe was this? Obviously, if cargo that the pilots weren't expecting was loaded, it could have turned out very, very bad. But what's the worst that could happen if a plane is lighter than the pilots are expecting?

The schedule does change later in the year with WOW arriving into KEF at 430 in the morning allowing to a morning connecting bank. Be interesting to see what schedule ultimately sticks. I hope this time doesn't stick and it goes back to the current one. No one is sleeping now on a flight that early...

No gate on WW167 to STL this morning, took a bus to a remote stand. There were only about 50 people on the flight, so everyone had a row to themselves. I assume the load was low because people flew out on last week to Europe and haven't yet made their way back to the states, hopefully those numbers ...

I asked this the other day in another thread. They fly in a few days before on another airline, or deadhead on their airline to get as close as they can (like maybe to FRA in this case) then take another airline for the short hop to the origin city.
