Re: United's future at Dulles

My one dream (that will never happen) is for AA to develop a minor O&D hublet at IAD-maybe operating IAD-SEA/LHR/MAD/NRT/DUB/CDG. I mean, with their JV partners, some of these already exist. BA flies IAD-LHR; Aer Lingus already flies DUB-IAD; they could be part of the JV soon. IB would be a str...

Re: 2017 NFL Charters (Airlines/Flight Numbers)

The Browns obviously have no mood to stay in London any longer. :spin: I was wondering when and on which plane Vikings will head back to Minnesota. The Brownies have no mood to stay in Cleveland much longer, let alone London. (Sorry, but as a Steelers fan I couldn't resist, even though I save more ...

So, WN joining a crowded PIT-CUN market with AA, DL and a couple of tourist operators. Looks like there's a lot of growth in that market from PIT and WN is trying to take advantage of it.

STL; BWI, MCO, TPA, LAX, RSW, FLL, LAS, IAH, DFW, ATL, MYR, and DTW. My 2 cents on these. BWI- only competes with WN (not counting DC airports) might work. Not sure on traffic. WN would do all they could to probably push them off. MCO- lots of competition. G4 (varies between 2 and 5x weekly), F9 Da...

How many MAX has WN taken so far? I just saw a WN commercial during an NFL game promoting the MAX, and Boeing got it's logo place prominently next to WN's at the end of the ad. 10 have been in service this month, 4 more to enter this year. 737 MAX 8 and 737-800 swaps happen every day and will conti...

Re: What's next for Allegiant?

I was thinking college charters for most of these. Apple Vacations don't have anything out of IND by the way. What I find weird is the SFB-BNA one is flying really low at 20k feet and is taking a really weird route. AAY4503 probably was the Austin Peay State University football team returning from ...

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread Part 34

SFO wouldn't be relevant to Amazon considering they're based out of Seattle (the lack of a PIT-SEA nonstop hurts Pittsburgh more than lack of service to the Bay Area). That said, I'm surprised that there isn't at least one daily WN flight from PIT to either OAK (crew base), SFO or SJC. Flights to S...

the one and only city that UA might be able to serve as a point-to-point from SAN, with a condition, is Norfolk. Contract or not, that seems like such an oddball route. Didn't they axe MDW-DSM in favor of STL-DSM? That one baffles me. Yes they did. They were getting very little O/D on the MDW-DSM route. Living in DSM, most people drive the route. The business travelers that fly it are already tied into their airline loyalties and kept flying UA and AA. All WN did ...

Re: 2017 NFL Charters (Airlines/Flight Numbers)

CPS isn't any closer to downtown St. Louis than Lambert is. Downtown is literally a 10 minute ride down 70 to Lambert. I'd venture to guess the teams going into CPS operate their own aircraft and prefer CPS's lower landing fees. When the Pittsburgh Pirates flew to St. Louis this season (UA2512), th...

Not sure which VS flight will be carrying the LA Rams, though I wouldn't be surprised if they had a B788 since that's what VS uses on their LAX-LHR flights from what I've seen on FlightAware. Their LAX-LHR are all 789, with the occasional A346 sub. VS doesn't have 788s. Ugh... I can't type tonight....

Re: Will Southwest Airlines ever expand into Alaska, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wyoming?

Southwest doesn't operate in any of the seven least populated states...of which yours are five of them (in addition to Vermont and Delaware). I don't think that's a coincidence - aside from Alaska, a lot of the flights in to these states are done with regional jets, which Southwest of course does n...

UA/B6 would creat a significantly large mega-airline. Would this force Wall Streets hand to push for a DL/AA merger in response? Or would that set off a race between DL and AA to merge with WN not be left out as the bridesmaid with no one left to merge with? I would be shocked if AA or DL would eve...

Not true for one-way pricing. Alaska shows round trip selections as two one-way fares. And other airlines make it work using the "other" or "advanced" option although not as easy. And I believe WN doesn't have such a feature that lets you create an open jaw or multi-stop trip on...
