I have to be the one to ask the question about what is going on with AA and ORD. I don't have OAG/Diio/Sabre access anymore , other wise I would try to answer this but has a whole bank been wiped away? Just seems really really odd.Jump to post
Is the OP a commercial aviation consultant with access to P&L? If not, how does he know what AA needs to do or what makes him think he is in a position to say that? Exactly. Now for some knowledge from old research I did: UA is killing AA on International routes (except for LHR). I agree with t...Jump to post
Also, curious what other markets are unserved with large pax sizes from MXP. Anyone got a list? In North America, I'd guess that ORD, BOS, and SFO are the largest markets from Milan that don't have nonstops. That's just a guess, though. I know ORD is, I can see the others. Wonder who will make thei...Jump to post
I feel like UA could make SFO-CAN work. That would require another Tier 1 city to lose a flight. So which one would you pick? I feel like UA could make SFO-CAN work. I believe UA tried SFO-CAN before and it didn't last long. Plus CAN is a restricted airport just like SHA and PEK so airlines would w...Jump to post
LMAO I love rumor threads like this... always start by claiming someone gave them insider, confidential info, then they spread it on here. I can see how this could maybe happen but its such a long shot, and come on claiming your friend at UA gave you this? Laughable. Indeed, the low and mid-level l...Jump to post

Can Hainan fly to new US destinations from PEK/PVG/CAN? I thought the Zone 1 frequencies were all spoken for but I may be misunderstanding how the bilateral works and/or how the frequencies are currently allocated. No, but they can fly from places like Tianjin or Shenzhen or Hangzhou, which are eac...Jump to post
I called this a year ago...
I would love to see WN reopen HNL-SNA, a former Aloha 73G route that AFAIK did decently well. Are any of WN's 73G's ETOPs though?
The extremely early departure/late arrival may be a bit of a detriment, but if they keep the fares somewhat low, I think it will do really well. I live in the Worcester area. It costs me on average $80 to $100 or more to get to Logan and back when you factor in parking, gas, and tolls. And it takes...Jump to post
BA has informed O'Hare of intent to withdraw planned A380 service. They wanted to adjust their schedule, but as crowded as T5 is during summer months, and with only one A380 capable gate, CDA was unable to accommodate BA's request. I'm going to say this respectful as I can, but I think you should r...Jump to post
Does anyone know when/if El Al will return to ORD? I'm surprised it is not serving Chicago right now. Also, will Virgin Atlantic ever return to ORD? I'm thinking probably not on VS; seems like this route belongs to BA/AA and UA, and with BA upgauging to A380 next year, I imagine it will only be har...Jump to post
Was ADD confirmed other than the news article? Also, source on AKL? For ADD, I haven't seen anything but what was on this thread: http://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1378203&p=19942109&hilit=Ethiopian#p19942109 Source for AKL: http://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?...Jump to post
I would love a recap of new upcoming International ORD routes. Here is what I could find, please correct me as necessary: MZT on UA - Starts 12/23/2017 CUN on VB (Viva) - Starts 2/17/2018 LGW on DY - Starts 3/25/2018 VCE on AA - Starts 5/4/2018 BUD on LO - Starts 5/5/2018 ADD on ET - Starts 6/2018 ...Jump to post
Regarding any routes on WN to/from Mexico, they recently pulled out of a few US-Mexico routes from LAX, so it seems like Mexico routes aren't really working out for their current business plan/strategy... It's unlikely that WN will add any routes in the near future (if not remove anymore current ro...Jump to post
So basically a modern day Ayres Loadmaster without the fancy two-engines-one-propeller thing? More like a modern day Western LET-410. It actually bears a striking resemblance to the LET-410. This will also be a great replacement aircraft in the developing world in routes and locales that don't requ...Jump to post
No need for GIG, EZE, CCS, etc from ORD, this is why ORD-BOG is happening.
LIM is the only one that makes sense but isnt likely short term
As said before, AV and UA are going into a JV.
Route will most likely be on A319 aircraft due to range/payload and timed to feed into deep South American destinations, as this is more than a VFR route.
If CA PEK-IAH is completely loaded five times a week, they won't hurt the yields on filling the seats with passengers coming from Panama City. If the plane is fully packed, why doesn't CA PEK-IAH rather fly on a daily basis ? Regards. Because they can't. No more frequencies to be had. Quite right. ...Jump to post
I'd like to reiterate this is only a draft plan. There will be many changes before the final draft is final. Nor do I think it is a perfect plan either - I have major issues with their choice of runway to close as explained previously. But as far as the terminal I think it is the right move. I even...Jump to post
CTU ORD and SHE VIE will just bleed heavily for Hainan and die a slow death. I really don't understand their overall strategy as it's purely P2P as they don't have a single proper network hub airport. ORD does not have that high demand to BKK KUL CGK SIN ORD SGN to warrant a new service. SQ is bett...Jump to post
Id rather pay a full fare on a real airline than to fly something like Allegiant, frontier or Southwest across the pond. Transoceanic flights are a hassle especially since I don't live in a hub city. I either have to fly or drive to a city to catch my international flight. The last thing I want to ...Jump to post
AA is pretty competitive with UA domestically at ORD.
I see no place for the CRJ-900 at ORD when the city is spending millions to build the stinger gates, designed for E-175s, which I would argue are more flexible and could open up more markets than the CRJ-900 (from a range perspective).
Yeah no to a combined Cleveland-Pittsburgh airport, but interesting video anyway: http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2017/11/21/pittsburgh-and-cleveland-shared-airport/ I like how they asked a small consulting firm in DEN for their opinion but didn't ask the one involved with the PIT master plan (R&...Jump to post

I'm sorry, I gotta be that person. While its great that there has been a 500 page Master Plan done, I would have liked to see new figures from 2016.. I know they exist in the data sources (Diio), used for this project. Sorry, just something I noticed. I think everyone else covered my thoughts on the...Jump to post
