Re: Indigo to start low-cost flights to Europe from next winter

Well there is no need to compete if you end up being acquired by your competitor I think indigo is slowly losing interest in air India. They have upgraded their a320 order to a321LR and will also acquire a330.These will let them fly to a wide range of destinations. So they will be better with flyin...

Re: Indigo to start low-cost flights to Europe from next winter

Ai must look for only corporate destinations like 9W if they want to stay in business after 2019 Well there is no need to compete if you end up being acquired by your competitor I think indigo is slowly losing interest in air India. Re: Indigo to start low-cost flights to Europe from next winter

Direct competition to AI especially if they plan to start all routes ex DEL Well I wonder how much will air India advertise their Europe destinations after indigo enters there. Both the airlines operating from same hub and both target tourists to fill Europe flights. Ai must look for only corporate...

Re: India Aviation Thread - 2018

Why are all the Indian Full Service Carriers so tardy? https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/1/3rd-of-flights-late-jet-beat-ai-in-being-tardy-last-year/articleshow/62701595.cms It's not just full service airlines but all of them are tardy. Indigo for example closes the door of...

Re: Indigo to start low-cost flights to Europe from next winter

Well this would be bad news for Jet Airways, I still don't get why they are not taking the deliveries of their B789's, its the perfect aircraft to restart US flights and add more European destinations. They are not taking the delivery because their hub BOM is saturated. They don't want to start USA...

Re: India Aviation Thread - 2018

It appears AI's new 77W VT-ALV has same business class seats as their 787s. Ferried yesterday to DEL. Did they remove the first class? According to seat guru , Air India's 77W has one row( four first class seats) unlike their 77L having 8 of them. If they plan to deploy the plane to USA routes, the...

Re: Indigo to start low-cost flights to Europe from next winter

Well I don't think indigo needs connection at Europe end. Once they start offering low fares to any city in Europe, passenger traffic will increase to that place. They will create their own market. The worst affected will be air India as they have been aggressively expanding to Europe. Jet airways w...

A note of interest is that IndiGo carried as may passengers in 2017 as the entire industry in 2009.

Even cricketers, celebrities have started choosing them. Looks like premium brands have no value in india!!!!!!!!!!

Re: India Aviation Thread - 2018

^^Sorry you need to check again, frm FEB 1st the BLR-CMB is cancelled. Never said 6E is the reason for 9w closure, I said maybe or perhaps the reason. It could be low yield or PLF. Bookings wer closed wen i check in DEC when 6E didnt even announce CMB station. IMO the timings of the 9W flight was w...

9W has stopped booking on BLR-CMB route, IndiGo effect? Also apparently the 6E BLR-SIN flight is doing quiet well. Had ~80% occupancy yesterday... Sorry but I just checked their website and bookings were open for 9W 277/278. They cannot be scared of Indigo in international sectors . They need to re...

Re: India Aviation Thread - 2017

... I think Indigo should not buy AI. They already have a 41% percent domestic market share and increasing it would lead to unhealthy competition. It will be good for vistara if tata takes over AI. They are an emergent airline with excellent services. Or Vistara can merge with Jet Airways and AirAs...

Re: India Aviation Thread - 2017

Huh AI bleeds every year and keeps ADDING debt. If the GOI sells: (1) the bleeding stops, (2) debt related to the airplanes is transferred and the price paid for AI will write down some of the remaining debt accumulated (you forgot that in your response above) - the remaining debt the GOI will eat,...

BLR Pax traffic for calendar year 2017= 25,048,302. BLR Dec 2017 pax= 2,501,412. Breakup= 2,126,188(DOM)+ 375,224(INTL) So 1 more Indian airport enters the 25 million pax category. Re: India Aviation Thread - 2018

Wow Air India is finally starting DEL-LAX. However I think that a Hollywood Bollywood route might have been better. anyone would like to agree with me? Not sure about DEL-LAX route. With the oil prices rising again, this ULH flight (the longest for AI) may not be profitable. SF is doing well and th...

Re: Air France-KLM and Jet Airways signed enhanced cooperation agreement

This is a joint venture. 9W along with AF & KL have signed a metal neutral pact in which all the international routes of the 3 airlines shall have profit being shared among them regardless of whose aircraft will be used. This will reap huge profits for jet airways as they will be exposed to the ...

Re: What new routes do you want from your home airport?

My home airport is Mumbai(BOM)
I wish there were the following routes:
BOM-MAN
BOM-MAD
BOM-ORD
BOM-LAX
BOM-JNB
BOM-SYD/MEL/BNE
I wish the above routes come into reality in the next 5-6 years
