Flying the aircraft "the right way" isn't really an issue. If an aircraft isn't flown per the limitations of the aircraft's flight manual, the pilot can face serious disciplinary action from the company and the F.A.A. There is whole lot more maneuverability in the aircrafts flight envelope...

Do regular line pilots go to PAE and pick up the airplanes or does Southwest have a special group of pilots that take care of this? I'm no expert but it's only 37 mile between SEA and PAE so I would guess that a crew from a flight into SEA would be the best choice for picking up the new plane at PA...

IDK about the A-380, but the B-787 did not have a purpose built prototype. From aircraft 1 on they were built with the intent of being validated as normal production aircraft. The first 3 aircraft became museum pieces because of production issues which made proving conformity to the Type Certificate...

I would say (best guess) that at altitude the fan is less efficient because the air is thinner and If the cores exit velocity is slower than the aircrafts airspeed, it would cause drag. After reviewing the product it looks like it might be used by an airlines passenger as a carry on electrical cooking device and would not be certified by the FAA. Much like laptops and tablets may be used in flight but are not approved for manufacture or use by the FAA.
