Re: Delta 757's with no Winglets

Recently flew ATL-PBI ona 757 with no winglets. However, AA still flies PHX- Hawaii with the no winglet 757, how are these routes not economical enough to add winglets? All the PHX ones will be junked next year according to the latest fleet plans and replaced with A321 NEO's. Wow, replaced with A32...

PHX has and does get 330 service and the 757s to HI will have to be replaced too. Is the 330 based there or is it making a turn from CLT/PHL? To have one there for a LHR trip would be a bit more complicating than one making a turn from CLT/PHL. It's making a turn, you are absolutely right about the...

Re: Future Int'l Routes from CLT

EI is bound to join the AA/BA TA ATI so when it comes to CLT-DUB it is a matter of the airlines determining who has the aircraft of appropriate size and premium cabin to fly the route. The same is said for CLT-LHR now. It's not inevitable that BA or EI come to CLT. It is the airlines making strateg...

Re: Future Int'l Routes from CLT

Isn't CLT building a new runway SPECIFICALLY for TPAC flights?. Granted, cargo is more likely. Could you go into more detail about this TPAC-only runway? It seems like a massive waste of money for a runway that will only see, optimistically, 2 takeoffs and landings per day. They already have a 9,00...

Re: Future Int'l Routes from CLT

In what universe would SNN be a larger market than MAN to anywhere, let another CLT? Were it not for the recent boom (oversupply?) in MAN-US traffic, I would have pegged this as a good bet for AA. CLT is a great place to connect MAN to the Southeast and Florida, the latter which is a huge source of...

Re: Future Int'l Routes from CLT

I wouldn’t put any AA CLT-Asia for the next 5 years minimum. I definitely see BA CLT-LHR, that’s inevitable at this point. CLT-FRA on LH is interesting, it’s CLT largest O/D Europe destination last time I checked but I don’t think LH will add it. If we were in the US days and star alliance, I would...

With LH already doing MUC, I can’t see FRA being started as there’s no Star Alliance connections out of CLT. I know the auto industry is big, but not big enough to support two LH flights. Future Int'l Routes from CLT

With Volaris now flying GDL-CLT, when can we expect more int'l routes to start appearing? Some that come to mind: LH CLT-FRA BA CLT LHR AA CLT- NRT/HND AA CLT- LIS EI CLT-DUB AA CLT- ATH I know it's a stretch for most, but as we see more gates appearing in the coming years, can we expect more heavies?

Re: CLT concourse A

It will be interesting to see if AA does in fact get gates in the "old" A what they use them for. I think it would be wise to consider focusing their prime business and competitive routes there (i.e. ATL, LGA, ORD, DFW). I'm sure there are others people would include but I'm thinking heav...

Any update on the new A north gates? Some sources say they'll open June 2018 and others just a generic "summer 2018". Should be any time now unless there is a setback with the project? Suppose to open within the next 2 weeks. Saw the food trucks there last week, which is always a good sign!

This new order, as discussed in other forums, will add another 25 planes to AA’s 787-9 fleet, bringing the total to 47. With the substantial growth of the Dreamliner fleet, and the ...
