Re: FAA to allow supersonic overflight of land soon?

IIRC they were planning to do that after the joint NASA/LM low sonic boom demonstrator program was finished

This is an unpopular opinion, but I personally can't wait till every 757 is scrapped. They're really old birds and they're showing their age. The sooner they get replaced the better.

Re: MH17: The missile belonged to a Russian brigade

Wow, if this is true, then it means a state actor, Russia, committed an act of war on an innocent civilian target. Sanctions should be placed on Russia, but no one will for political reasons and of course President Putin will deny it. At the least, some sanctions must be imposed on Russian based ai...

Re: FAA Gives Final Approval to 777X Folding Wings

I guess they have the AD ready recommending not to use this fancy feature unless it is absolutely necessary. If line mx need to test folding tips with gates on both sides occupied, do they have to drag it to a hangar/remote stand? ... lmao. navy planes have had folding wingtips for decades, this is...

Re: FAA Gives Final Approval to 777X Folding Wings

Am I wrong in assuming most clean sheet designs in the future will have some type of wingtip extensions? It seems to me a relatively easy way to squeeze a bit more efficiency out of a wing for not that much more cost. I would imagine that the 777X will be the litmus test for it, like the 787 was fo...

Re: FAA Gives Final Approval to 777X Folding Wings

FAA must be in Boeing’s pocket. We all know that folding wingtips are a security and operation risk and that planes are going to fall out the sky and passengers going to die because tip of the wing can move up and down. Do you realize how close to the fuel tanks it is too!? lmao. navy planes have h...

Re: AC Makes A Pass On Their B787 Options

How much cheaper would a used a330+cabin overhaul be compared to a fresh 787? I'd imagine the lower fuel costs would outweigh the extra cost over the life of the frame...

Re: JetBlue to Anchor new MCO Terminal

So who is now the "official airline of Disney World"? Still Delta? Delta hasn't sponsored Disney since 96. There's no official Disney airline now. I’m like 95% certain that WestJet markets themselves as the official airline of Disney World. I’ve seen advertisements from them saying that, ...

Re: MLS Clubs travel?

Wow, a question I can answer on a.net! So no most club has thier own jet, a la Patriots. They are only allowed a few uses of a jet for the entire season, (iirc only 5) the rest of the time they must for commercial. As a result, teams tend to stockpile their jet uses for the playoffs. It's supposed t...
