I won’t read too much into the F9 schedule if it’s not true since we don’t know... but if the Sept schedule is correct that looks like a significant increase in capacity across the board (comparing Sept YOY numbers, and ignoring August since right now they’ve only loaded the partial month)

Internal SWA posting circulating says FAA has approved the ETOPS procedures for WN - all that’s left is an exercise and the validation flights.

Any idea how long the proving runs will take? Looks like if they push it they could be flying by spring break or at least by next summer

Interesting... FlightAware shows he’s filed to essentially do a “square” loop, fly out then down then back over LA and back up the coast to OAK. Possibly ETOPS assuming that range off the coast is “provable” (and that the filing isn’t a dummy flight plan and he actually won’t just go straight for HI...

Plus... the fact they aren't even willing to run ANC year round tells me they are anything but "committed" to serving Alaska Granted they upgauged DFW-ANC to a 787, but if they can't even fly one daily PHX or LAX in the winter, it tells me they're perfectly content routing via the AS codes...

Good authority it’s IAH-JNB #confirmed It would be good, but there has to be more to be "historic" If he's in LAX, that's surely a hint. Perhaps gates/terminal/other LAX info involved also? Mapping it out on GCMap... IAH-JNB clocks in at like 14 miles more than PER-LHR. That would mean UA...

B6 CASM-ex is within a penny or so of DL and UA. I wouldn't call that a "significant" cost advantage... it's nowhere near Spirit, for example. JetBlue is much closer to a mainline carrier in terms of its cost structure, but doesn't generate Delta yields, and that's why this move by DL sho...

Yea probably just weather/turbulence up higher. Looks like constant light has been reported 250 and higher based on PIREPs (turbulence forecast and AWC), so I guess they’re just making the ride more comfortable?

At this point... it's time for AS to just reduce to one gate. I mean seriously, they can accommodate 13 departures out of one gate between 6a and 9p. It'd be tight, but with E75s only, I don't see the issue. Then pretty much everybody is "happy" - DL gets their 13 flights, AS gets their 13...

Personally, I think an unwritten nod to AS for giving them LGA/DCA slots is more likely than the Love Field deal, simply because there hasn't been any change at DAL before or since the PAE transfer was announced. Seems to me this is probably due to the nasty WX in MCI and the midwest in general ... DL found a spare couple of frames, upguaged because they needed the seats for folks who were cancelled today, and made it work. (I'm assuming they weren't already scheduled as 738s/752s)

The BNA-ATL O+D market is extremely limited - DL has the advantage of having its mega hub on the other end to funnel everybody through.
