Re: New Zealand Aviation Thread - November 2018

I feel NYC and presumably EWR will be about segmenting the US, and leveraging their one stop options for those outside SYD on the Oz end who don't want to do the domestic to Intl transfer at SYD, but also penetrate the NE of the US and Canada. Yes this can be reached from Chicago also but I feel EWR...

Re: United's IAH-SYD flight progress.

What I find interesting about this flight is the flight path. I have seen numerous times the flight almost over flies LA and then heads SW to Sydney whereas the NZ flight to AKL.goes across Mexico more in straight kien. Not sure if UA are trying to minimize Mexican fees and take a longer route.....j...

Re: New Zealand Aviation Thread - October 2018

Just to add my 2 cents. AKL Airport - If 40M passengers is reached how many are transit and transfer, head south by car, tour bus etc....The actual amount going into AKL CBD is a lot smaller. To me LR seems the best option kills 2 birds with one stone, this can be supplemented by bus. AKL does not h...

Re: Whats next at IAH?

Having connected from.UA to NZ I do agree something needs to.happen to.D. seems very sparse for shops food etc. I know it's not a long walk but maybe the whole area needs to be reconfigured or decent food hall put in and somehow linking to domestic side that way vendors will have all day traffic. Pa...

Re: New Zealand Aviation Thread - September 2018

So wanted to circle back with everyone since I returned from NZ, as some gave me pointers for seating on the 787 out of IAH. I was lucky to score 3 seats out of IAH so was a good ride...coming back had an empty seat next to me so wasn't bad. Pitch is tight in back section think it states 31" ve...

Re: New Zealand Aviation Thread - August 2018

Re: New Zealand Aviation Thread - August 2018

Re: New Zealand Aviation Thread - July 2018

Anyone know what's happening at the moment with fares to NZ from the US? I have been looking at coming home in August for several months and all the airlines are well above US$2K. I did some dummy bookings on NZ, and the flights have a lot of empty seats (50 - 70 seats in econ), and wondering why th...

Re: New Zealand Aviation Thread - June 2018

Hi all......first post, but long time lurker of the site. Question about the NZ 787, as I am flying home through Houston shortly. I noticed that that economy cabin has a pitch of 32" (33" for the couch seats) but only 31" in the rear section, but notices the majority of the seats open...
