I think the airport and chamber of commerce want an East Coast flight for prestige...a trophy route. A non-stop flight to say New York would help Boise sell itself to businesses looking to relocate.

Looks like IAH is the longest N/S flight from BOI. I found that to be surprising. I see a Skywest Flight #5691 on an E175 from BOI-ORD, too, which is just a tick shorter than BOI-IAH. And technically...the flights on UPS -- BOI-SDF and FX -- BOI-MEM are longer, but that's obviously not PAX OPS. ORD...

I landed on a Tuesday afternoon mid-December and the arrivals level was full of cars and a line around the parking garage. Surely some early Xmas arrivals but still surprising. I had NEVER seen that before. Usually, there's a handful of cars at most.

10 gates may not mean 10 jetways, especially with a 70,000 sq ft terminal. They may be using “gates” and “parking spots/RONs” interchangeably. I believe Boise’s terminal from early 2000s is 300,000 sq ft to serve 14 jetways and 10 ground load gates for perspective.
