Re: NSA+NMA: Could Boeing do them both together (again)?

Maybe part of the difficulty in closing a 797 business case is that they know in the future a 737 sized aircraft from their own company will be entering into the same territory that the 797 will sit, not just a competitors product in that space (A321 and derivatives)

Not to start a war of A vs B, will secondary market considerations of 777-X have an effect on future orders in a way that occurred to the A380? , Emirates probably does not care to much but in not that many years after they have them there will be a chunk of second hand 777-Xs looking for homes.

I think the main reason is the number of frames needed to pay for the development has got a lot higher. Thanks to program accounting at Boeing (no don't start arguing about that here!!!!!) we can actually get a window into the cost of launching a new aircraft type and how many you have to sell to co...

You never want to borrow money to pay off money you owe because you don't have it, especially at a higher interest rate. This is not rolling over capital expenditure loans to lower your interest or extend your repayment period, this is for covering operating expenses that never ends well.

So passengers don't pick A380 for comfort over other types but do pick E-jets on comfort over CRJs when flying. I am no fan of sitting on a cramped CRJ-200, but there is normally not much choice involved in these decisions.
