I liked flying non-rev into ITH when I was in college in the early 80s. Empire flew Metros to Utica, JFK, Islip and I think Syracuse. Don't remember if the F28s made it to Ithaca. Allegheny/USAir flew DC-9s during the same period Empire operated F28’s from ITH for several years. At one point they h...Jump to post

Are they suffering from any kind if capacity constraints now?
"As a result of the project, Hall said he expects airport revenue to go up. "
This isn't usually how it works...
Great article on the upcoming changes to ITH. The expanded terminal will be great!

Big news out of Ithaca today: Governor Cuomo was in town to announce a $22 million expansion of the terminal at ITH. Press release from the Governor's office with full details of the project https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-announces-22-million-project-transform-ithaca-tompkins-regio...Jump to post
I found DEN RDU and MCO for each PWM SYR and MDT.... SYR gets ORD too MDT-RDU is definitely interesting, hope them the best! MCO and DEN did well before so I see those routes working well again. Glad to see SYR and PWM also! Guess ABE will not be back at this point. MDT-RDU is very interesting. Let...Jump to post
Frontier has MDT listed as a destination on their site... I just checked their website and see nothing on their route map and Harrisburg isn’t listed in their drop down menu. After trying to book a flight go to Edit Booking Search and MDT is an option. Harrisburg shows up on the Frontier app as a d...Jump to post

ITH and ROA are shoe ins both because what they're asking for is reasonable and because they're asking for less in SCASD funds than they already have in community funds and because they're proposing network service. Fingers crossed for ITH. They have been trying for a few years to secure ORD service.Jump to post
UA2527 was actually the first 777 to ever fly in/out of MDT. I’m pretty sure back in 2005 Orange Bowl there was a UA 772 in MDT at gate B5. Also there have been diversions. Over the years UA has diverted numerous 777's to MDT when the weather was bad at IAD. I remember having 3 777-200's on the car...Jump to post
I did a search on Google for the new ELM service and found nothing. I'm guessing it isn't "official" yet. ELM-EWR is loaded on united.com and at travelocity.com. I don't know how much more "official" it needs to be. What I meant was there was no official announcement from the ai...Jump to post
Very surprised UA is returning to ELM, considering they cut this at the same time they cut BGM as well. Good for ELM though. I'm a bit surprised they're back to ELM so soon as well, but I think EWR will work better than ORD this time around. I wonder if adding ELM will affect Ithaca's three daily f...Jump to post
MDT normally sees a 747 in place of the normal UPS A300.Jump to post
Good news for ITH. This was expected since Commutair had announced the retirement of the Dash 8's.
ITH will be all jet service now. DL to DTW, AA to PHL, and UA to EWR.

Great report. I grew up near ITH. It's a great small town airport.Jump to post
I know UA is only getting rid of the 300's right now, but the 200's won't last forever. I think cities like AVP and ITH will hurt when they eventually go. I could be wrong, but there has to be some city on the edge of profitability that still works with a prop, but wouldn't with a jet. Just like in...Jump to post
I've slowly been buying the Gemini200 models. One or two every few months. The detailing is amazing.Jump to post

Was hoping to see AA add ITH-ORD. ITH had made a comment a few weeks ago that a major announcement was coming?!?!?!?Jump to post

Last flight leaves Wednesday, February 15 at 530pm. Then AA* is done.
toltommy wrote:Doesn't that mean there will be no scheduled air service at BGM during this time?
CLT would be a good add. I agree. I guess DL to ATL is an option as well but I have a feeling it will be some type of AA add. AA dropped ELM and BGM to focus on ITH. A southern connection would be nice. I wonder how ITH won out over ELM and BGM? There had to have been some deal made between ITH and...Jump to post
I feel sorry for the taxpayers of New York who just donated $250,000 to promote an airport that can't afford to promote itself. Probably because it serves a town of 30,000 people and is 50 miles away from Syracuse. I do get a kick out of their idea that the airport generated $20 million for the loc...Jump to post
More good news for ITH. The most interesting part of the article is the last paragraph where they mention a major announcement for the airport coming in the next few weeks. Maybe ITH will see service to ORD or even CLT. http://www.ithacajournal.com/story/news/local/2017/02/03/ithaca-airport-receives...Jump to post

thread reads much better now that I added jumbojet to ignore list. I had forgot about the ignore feature. Thanks for the reminder. I agree with you, the thread is now much better. Thanks I didn't know about the friend Foe option. I found it now. I will also be hiding "jumbojet" He serious...Jump to post

A Kalitta Charters 727-200F just departed MDT going back to CVG.
