to add a little to the above usairways will see an even greater increase in low-cost competion when airtran starts all their flights out of bwi and gets their 4 new gates at phl. as much as i would like to see usairways survive for some reason i dont think it will.

they are still goin strong in philadelphia. there are 4 or 5 a day from dfw and 1 or 2 from mia and sometimes 1 from sju

i think it could be profitable if usairways upgraded their aircraft flying to florida from their hubs and make mco a mini hub with flights to some other florida destinations and maybe a few carribean destinations

i think they need to increase service out of phl. it has a lot of potential and is the closest to a northeast hub they have. with a new 36 gate regional terminal and a new international terminal us airways is starting to expand their facilities hopefully with expansion of routes not far behind

i was thinking although they want rj's badly and it would be a good investment, wouldn't it take the rj's a while to be delivered and might not make it in enough time to actually help reduce costs?

what about the international routes mainly out of philadelphia, the international hub. since most of the major carriers have many international gateways in the northeast, what airlines will pick up the international routes.

i would say a lot of us believe us airways will go bankrupt in a year or two, whether we like it or not. if it happends what airlines do you think will pick up routes from us airways hubs in phl, pit, and clt and what routes will they pick up?

i know, these are just my opinions. do u think i really believe lufthansa will fly 744 to phl anytime soon, NO. as a matter a fact i was surprised when i saw british airways flying 744 into phl, i was expecting to see the same old 777's for years. we all probably have opinions of what we would like ...

whats the deal with movng more flights to their hubs. they are already there, there are not as many at bwi now and bos doesn't have that many. as for the rj's that is a given and hopefully they will get more. they already have a good number of destinations in the carribean, i think 14 from phl, but ...

all these upgrades probably wont happen for a while if at all, but i would like to see:
lufthansa 744 fra-phl (now 343)
some delta 763 atl-phl
united 757s lax-phl (now 320s)
air france 343 cdg-phl (now 763)
american 757s dfw-phl
i could probably list dozens, but that is enough

i would say that the 737's should be retired as well. but one big problem is the use of big planes on short routes that should be flow by rj's. for example us airways flys mainline aircraft to syracuse, buffalo, norfolk, albany, greensboro/highpoint, and a few others from philadelphia. these routes ...

at philly there is a dedicated terminal to regional traffic with about 20 gates capable of unloading passengers from rj's as well as a few turbo props. its cool the gates are practically at ground level and almost at level with most rj's

i doubt baltimore will see much more international service for a while. if lufthansa cant keep a 342 daily to philly its unlikely they will fly to baltimore. if you live north of bwi why dont you go try philadelphia, the international trafffic isnt close to iad's but not that bad.

before 9/11 i think air france was planning on serving philadelphia with a 343 2 days and a 763 the rest, now it is just the 763. any one know if air france will upgrade to a 343 to philadelphia by the summer

i have been to jk twice, both times i had a hard time taking photos. i had to take them from the waiting area at terminal 1, the admirals club at american's terminal and some of the parking garages. i am used to taking photos from inside the terminal, now that i cant do that it will be hard to find ...

if you go to flightarrivas.com i think you can look under arrivals/departures by airline and look under UPS. if not look under the airport of your desire and it will list most major cargo carriers. like if you look up philadelphia arrivals at 10 at night you will see about 10 to 20 UPS flights

yes he is normally transported on the 747, but since it is such a short distance from dc to philly i guess they decided to take the 757. economically it is not that smart to fly a 747 from dc to philly. i know he is the president but things change very often to when he arrives and how he arrives. la...

i was thinking that since it was such a short distance that they decided to use a 757 to transport the president,rather than the normal 747. regardless whatever plane the president is on, whether it is the normal 747 or if it is a C-130 military cargo plane it is considered Air Force One

yes in a way i am jealous. usairways is too big in phl. they pretty much dominate like all of their hubs. but look at ewr. it is a major continental hub, but still has a good amount of american a united flights. the main reason though is there is much more demand at ewr. i agree that delta shouldn't...

i have taken the shuttle without a ticket and without being questioned, but not after 9/11. the security could be tighter on the shuttle. it does get you close to planes at D and E. while you are there see how the D expansion is going, hope it is done soon.

spirit has a big operation there. us airways express has a few flights mainly from PHL. it is mainly used as a FAA testing facility and national guard air wing center.

i thought there was a place for people to get picked up at terminal F. they are currently building a terminal F parking garage and a walkway to it.
