Does the 787-10 have enough range to cover all the 777E routes? Overwise they will be downsizing with a 787-9 on some routes and AMS is slot controlled Don't think one-for-one. 787-10's can't operate all routes. 77W's or 77X will be used for the longer ones. But what are you really paying for in C then? Fast track, a seat up front and a lounge visit? I don't think that really warrant an often double fare. Often much more than double fare. Worth it on night flights for the seat. Maybe not on one hour flights. If you fly regularly you can visit the loung...

I think the Embraer is an improvement over the Fokker. We lost the empty seat but you gain a better seat, less noise, better catering and higher speed (no extra flying time compared to a 737). But it is now confirmed that KLM keeps buying old stuff for an airport that may not grow the number of flights because of noise.Very strange !! The 77W's will replace 747's. Any other plane in this size category would have entirely different delivery dates. Early retirement of the 747 means less CO...

Makes sense. KLM is currently phasing out their 747 fleet which included 7 'full pax' 744's. They added four 77W's since starting this replacement cycle and 14 787's, with 14 more Dreamliners on order. The two extra 77W's help to maintain capacity from a slot restricted Amsterdam airport.

The swap to 10's predates the first delivery (and thus complaints). KL has indicated that they are worried about future deliveries of the -10. However they swapped another six -9's to -10's recently. KLM is currently replacing their remaining 747's. Capacity wise the 77W's replace 744's so they are greener than the frames they replace.

If they are going to order 787 or A350s to replace the A380s why not go for the bigger versions of 787-10 and/or A350-1000 instead of the smaller 787-9/A359s?
