The constrainment is temporary.
1) a business that carries passengers for money. 2) a maintenance and repair organisation. Suppose an airline operates a number planes of a certain type and it costs them x per plane to maintain them. Then they find if they also maintain several of the same type for other airlines it only costs the...Jump to post
A For the A380 replacement either A351s or B779s would be ordered and my money would be on the A351 MTOW version. AF loves their 777's. They have 70 of them (including the freighters). For fleet commonality a large 777 order would not surprise me at all. KL's home base is slot restricted and even i...Jump to post
If MEX were not so high above the sea level, AM would be a natural candidate. I could see the 78X flying from MEX to MAD, EZE, GRU pretty much all year long, plus the current daily 787 rotation to JFK. During summer, it would likely get nicely filled to AMS and CDG too. MEX - AMS is about 5000 naut...Jump to post
The A350 is the proper replacement but KLM love themselves some GE, so without that being an option on the A350 it's possible we could see the 777X to replace the 777Ws. 777Es would have to be additional 787-9/10s if they don't go A350 as the 777-8 wouldn't make any sense. The A350 might be a repla...Jump to post
What, phased out early? Disagree. More 787s will, like the A350 for KLM, come at some point - just later. Like the A350, the group has many options for that type too. PH-BKA, KL's 14th 787, will only be their #5 from the AF/KL order of 25 (and 25 options). The other 9 are leased so even more option...Jump to post
Unreported is that KL recently ordered an extra 787-10 so it recieves the same amount of 787’s as previously planned A350’s.
Makes sense, as it prevents a subfleet op a mere seven 350-900’. Unless I’m mistaken, the 787-10 and 359 in KLM’sfleet would have a similar configuration and seat count. Can the 787-10 do everything the 359 would have done at KLM? No they are different planes. Different optimisations. But KLM opera...Jump to post
I agree with the posters above who point out that celebrating an event like the 100th birthday of "anything" is very important, but should never be tied or even linked to the delivery of something other than a big cake and some flowers! Linking KLM's order of the B788 family - one whose d...Jump to post

E175-E2 is too much of a plane for KLM. Their current E175 are standard version. They don't need the range. But if they ordered E195-E2 then maybe they want commonality. Still can't see why replace E-175. It's very likely the proposed new order will be used to replace some of the E190's as well as ...Jump to post
I am in doubt whether the purchase option for the E195-E2 will be to replace the entire fleet of the current E190-E1: the issue of the restriction of operation in the LCY remains, unless they outsource to third parties. Or, convert some of the options to the E190-E2 ... I think they will gradually ...Jump to post

I think the E195 might be a partial 737-700 replacement. Thinner routes can move to klc with a loper operation cost. White other routes will move to a future NEO/Max fleet, With the low end being the a320 or 737-8. I'm not so sure about this. AMS is slot restricted. Even if there will be slightly m...Jump to post

EDIT: Just read on their linkedin: "The A321XLR variant will be operated with 239 seats, the same as the A321neo to ensure full fleet commonality with Wizz Air’s existing fleet.". So, definitely no USA from CEE. So where can it go with 239 seats sold? Or would they sell a lower number of ...Jump to post

Interesting move. KLM hasn't stopped growing in the region South America. They already serve 10 destinations in Latin America: -Buenos Aires From May 5, 6 weekly 77W is changed to 3 weekly 77W and 3 weekly 789. There could be several reasons to do this of course, one of those would be they need the...Jump to post
The word is out no A350 for KLM but extra 787 that where assigned to AF. Luchtvaartnieuws.nl Not saying it isn’t true but they are again quoting the same source. how difficult would it be to transfer the af 787s to klm in exchange of the a350s? i know af-klm isnt as integrated as iag, but they are more or less the same company, no?
