Re: Future operators of Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner

If MEX were not so high above the sea level, AM would be a natural candidate. I could see the 78X flying from MEX to MAD, EZE, GRU pretty much all year long, plus the current daily 787 rotation to JFK. During summer, it would likely get nicely filled to AMS and CDG too. MEX - AMS is about 5000 naut...

it narrows quite a bit at the front. So much so that you can look straight ahead through some of the cabin windows as the sides curve inward.

Re: KLM and Air France swaps wide body orders

The A350 is the proper replacement but KLM love themselves some GE, so without that being an option on the A350 it's possible we could see the 777X to replace the 777Ws. 777Es would have to be additional 787-9/10s if they don't go A350 as the 777-8 wouldn't make any sense. The A350 might be a repla...

Re: KLM and Air France swaps wide body orders

What, phased out early? Disagree. More 787s will, like the A350 for KLM, come at some point - just later. Like the A350, the group has many options for that type too. PH-BKA, KL's 14th 787, will only be their #5 from the AF/KL order of 25 (and 25 options). The other 9 are leased so even more option...

Re: KLM and Air France swaps wide body orders

Makes sense, as it prevents a subfleet op a mere seven 350-900’. Unless I’m mistaken, the 787-10 and 359 in KLM’sfleet would have a similar configuration and seat count. Can the 787-10 do everything the 359 would have done at KLM? No they are different planes. Different optimisations. But KLM opera...

I agree with the posters above who point out that celebrating an event like the 100th birthday of "anything" is very important, but should never be tied or even linked to the delivery of something other than a big cake and some flowers! Linking KLM's order of the B788 family - one whose d...

Re: KLM Orders E195-E2 Jets

E175-E2 is too much of a plane for KLM. Their current E175 are standard version. They don't need the range. But if they ordered E195-E2 then maybe they want commonality. Still can't see why replace E-175. It's very likely the proposed new order will be used to replace some of the E190's as well as ...

Re: Paris AIr Show 2019: Other Manufacturers and Engine News and Orders Thread

I am in doubt whether the purchase option for the E195-E2 will be to replace the entire fleet of the current E190-E1: the issue of the restriction of operation in the LCY remains, unless they outsource to third parties. Or, convert some of the options to the E190-E2 ... I think they will gradually ...

Re: Paris AIr Show 2019: Other Manufacturers and Engine News and Orders Thread

I think the E195 might be a partial 737-700 replacement. Thinner routes can move to klc with a loper operation cost. White other routes will move to a future NEO/Max fleet, With the low end being the a320 or 737-8. I'm not so sure about this. AMS is slot restricted. Even if there will be slightly m...

They already serve 10 destinations in Latin America: -Buenos Aires From May 5, 6 weekly 77W is changed to 3 weekly 77W and 3 weekly 789. Apart from the seven 789's already operating for AF there is one more coming up in about a week and another one in a few weeks' time. If KL would only get 787's there should be follow-up orders for the type to replace the A350's going to AF.
