Re: LOT News Thread - 2019

Check the days you're looking for WAW-HNL via LAX. Only when LO arrives in the afternoon can it connect to UA's last LAX-HNL flight of the day, usually around 5 or 6pm. Tried that (arriving 2:25pm, last UA is at 5:50pm) - and it's showing nice 28 hours layover at LAX. But you are right - sometimes ...

Re: BER News and Discussion Thread

Extension of the U6 metro like to Tegel is the plan -- plus a tramline (13). Could well happen, but no final decision has been taken, and it will take a while either way. U7 to Schoenefeld should be a priority given the growing pax number and limited access to BER. Not having a direct U-Bahn or S-B...

Re: LOT News Thread - 2019

I heard they avoid the Ukrainian air space, thatswhy they fly south. Russians would give the rights easily to hungarian based flights as the leaders are too good friends... just look at wizzairs expansions from Bud and Ltn... Found a photo of the currently based 2 LOT dreamliners in BUD on tuesday....

Re: LOT News Thread - 2019

Just a clarification to this - UA does codeshare with LO, but it's only a few short-haul routes (e.g. UA2000) . But of course the scale of this completely does not meet the needs. Which is probably what works in favor of BOS, where there is Jet Blue. You're right! UA does not codeshare on TATL flig...

Re: LOT News Thread - 2019

An update in PL media today about CEO's comments on LO opening a new TATL link after PL is included in the visa waiver. SFO cited as most likely (though some say LO should consolidate its LAX presence first), but also IAD (less likely given that UA does not codeshare with LO, which means LO metal wo...

Re: European LCC

Isn't there a risk that the authorities will push LCCs away from BUD? Would that not pose a major threat to W6? Does LOT effectively (longer-term) pose a challenge to their BUD dominance?

Re: Is LO operating 787 into LHR?

I saw one holding over London on a Sunday in late July. Filling the gaps for the grounded MAXes. I should think they could use the space, use of E195 to LHR seems like a waste of slots, especially given the size of the Polish community in UK and growing business ties.

Re: LOT News Thread - 2019

I saw speculation in a Polish paper that AA was interested in WAW ex ORD (unclear whether seasonally or year-round) but did not receive a welcoming response from the PPL/airport authority (allegedly new routes get priority treatment when it comes to slots at decent times -- and LO already serve ORD)...

Re: KLM launches 100th Anniversary

Both commercials are terrible. The first buys into the flight shaming nonsense which has become vogue of late and the second is unimaginative. KLM’s anniversary efforts leave much to be desired. They have been outclassed by British Airways on all fronts. I doubt BA could outclass Air Koryo if it tr...

Re: LOT News Thread - 2019

Any indication they are re-thinking the MAX fleet? The double challenge (788 and 73M) is bound to give LOT management a reason to think twice about Airbus after all. Especially if Airbus were open to taking on a Polish partner.
