77W 39U After several false starts this one is finally flying paying passengers UA212 SFOEWR 13Jun. It appears will be going to and fro SFOEWR for the next few days... probably to be sure all the gremlins have been evicted from the electrical system. Saw it at EWR as I was heading south on the Turn...Jump to post

Is it ok ?
They all fall victim to the changing sun angle at PHL then. As you get to summer the angle for 27s at PHL makes for a more nose lit set-up. Will add some brightness when I have a bit more time to edit more photos. Kas if you remove "dark" as a reason then everyone will have to use underexp...Jump to post
Was on a really nice stretch this week with the one rejection being nicely explained. Got these 4 rejections today: Underexposed: http://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/9/8/5/4364589.jpg?v=v44f3c0273da Dark: http://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/5/0/6/4364605.jpg?v=v40aee6203f7 http:/...Jump to post
Lots of pictures... EY A332: may be a bit OS on the tail and blurry on the window line... could just be the sun glare on it IL-96s: IF both were taken around the same time they differ a lot in contrast and color. 96022 might be a bit low on contrast and over exposed HU 789: Fine HU 789 Kung Fu: Fine...Jump to post
Two more today: soft http://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/5/3/4/4357435.jpg?v=v451d222ba25 - maybe windows around the titles? blurry http://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/7/1/1/4357117.jpg?v=v45fb544e4bf - only thing that is burry to me are the props which is supposed to be unless y...Jump to post
Harry, The A330 the screeners agreed with my thinking and it was accepted. The two year old photos was that the same equipment you are using now? Colors just don't look nearly as good. SQ 330: Slight CCW rotation. Maybe like 0.25-0.50. May have a color cast there, just something looks off about that...Jump to post
Hi, Len In my opinion, the contrast and the exposure of the above photos are fine. But regarding to the first one, it seems indeed a little low in frame but not very serious. And the color of the last one seems ok for me actually. Maybe the cloud seems a little magenta but .... i think is ok. Cheer...Jump to post
Thanks Kas! The two changes I made were resizing before sharpening and it is now bicubic for the sampling. Sharpening now in masks to only selectively sharpen areas that need it. Three more rejections today: http://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/3/7/9/4347973.jpg?v=v4d6f90cec04 Dark, low con...Jump to post
CL30 being appealed then. No new gear. My lens was at Canon a few weeks ago for a tweak of the focus but all of these pictures are from before that was done. I worked with a screener who is a friend on tweaking my post processing. There was one or two changes to some settings in photoshop that fixed...Jump to post
Thanks Kas! For the United 739 would I be better off appealing that one or going with this angle: http://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/3/0/5/4355503.jpg?v=v4204861b282 I think that second angle would still need a little bit of brightening looking at it again This one was hit for a vignette ...Jump to post
Appreciate the responses and Kas for looking into things. Just had these two: United 739: Blurry http://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/5/2/6/4342625.jpg?v=v45c29a3a775 - Maybe window line or is it more the conditions that makes it look that way? NetJets Citation: Blurry, Soft, Noise, Vignett...Jump to post
CZ 787 better now with that redo of the colors. HU A333 I'm just not liking that area between doors L1 and L2. Maybe it is just really soft there that makes it look a bit blurry to me. Air China: I've had similar type of issues where the glare line right along the window line led to acceptance woes....Jump to post
Overall seeing a bit of noise in the sky China Eastern: Not sure about the level but looks okay Air China: Glare line will cause issues with sharpening Hainan: Window line looks blurry. Some OS towards the registration near that glare China Southern: Think it is okay, maybe slight red/magenta tint C...Jump to post
So in the past few weeks things had gotten somewhat better but over the past two weeks I have been 5/5 on appeals. 5 wrongful acceptances is a bit many and I would definitely like to bring this forward to the screening team's attention. For me I always just take the bag with me which is a book bag style gear bag. Usually have the 6D mounted to the 100-400 as my go to. Sometimes I might mount the 7D2 to the 100-400, especially if I am shooting EWR 22 departures. For me with traveling a lot it makes it easy to keep everything togethe...Jump to post
Does anybody see this as being a noisy sky? My main display this week is a Retina so tough to see true pixels for noise. I've looked on my phone and iPad and did not see noticeable noise in the sky as well. Another thing is there was some faint snow falling at the time of the arrival so I wonder if ...Jump to post
Not East Asia, but one of the two EWR-TLV flights will be on the 77W soon... I know TLV is slated to get one 77W on it. I really thought we would see a few more 77W routes out of EWR. India, Japan, China are all areas where the extra lift from the 77W would really pay off over the 772ERs. More are ...Jump to post
Interesting to see these becoming more of a SFO based fleet with the 744 replacement and still nothing mentioned about utilization of these on the EWR- Eastern Asia routes. One would think these frames would be a good fit for United there. I'm heading EWR-HKG will be switched to the 77W soon. Not E...Jump to post
I often see a UA 772 or a 737-400 at EWR...the general take-away is that out of dozens and dozens of United tails at EWR there is often just 1 with the *A tail in amongst them all. It's ironic this thread popped up, I was very recently just starring at a Star Alliance tail at EWR and trying to deci...Jump to post

AC leases the space at Gate 17 for the 787 as that is a B6 gate. I'm not sure if there is a gate swap for the time period where B6 will take an AC gate during that time. How many gates at C concourse will be able to accommodate the 777-300. I know wingspan is larger than the 772. I seriously think a...Jump to post
The cheatlines are quite jaggy. If you didn't apply any sharpening, then resizing could've been the culprit. As for the blur, it just looks slightly blurry in general. Here's the full size: https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/32686962813/sizes/o/ So what do you do in a case where there is no...Jump to post
Where's the blur on this and how can an image be OS if I didn't apply any sharpening?

That wasn't me, but I am sorry for the results of your latest batch. That's far from fun for me too. Regarding the 2 earlier photos, I do kinda agree with the result. Thing is, when the images are slightly blurry and then sharpened, it's a short route to being blurry/OS. The exposure can always be ...Jump to post

AA: No heavy work on it. Levels, sharpen, and resize. Equalized to check for dust.
As for the clipped stabilizer, I had a plane on the ground with a clipped stabilizer accepted in early 2016. I don't recall seeing any sort of rule changes in the past year.
So I've been quiet for a bit as photography is not my job, career, etc. It's my hobby and passion to take me away from the stress of everyday life. Life for the past 8 weeks has been insanely busy with just a few small breaks for me to get out and spot with minimal time to upload or post. It seems l...Jump to post
