Thai airways Europe network

How is Thai Airways doing on the low yield Europe market against the ME3? and anymore room for expansion in Europe for TG like Madrid, Manchester or least increasing frequencies on routes like Bangkok-Moscow from 4 weekly to daily?

Re: Cathay Pacific Europe network

CX aggressively expanded in Europe over the last few years with LGW, MAN, DUB, MAD, ZRH, BCN, BRU among others to their network. We've also seen DUS and CPH and Moscow (SVO/DMV??) axed when it was still served with the Airbus A340. MUC- HKG is covered with LH and I'm not sure if it could sustain an...

Re: Cathay Pacific Europe network

Berlin maybe after the new airport is complete, Geneva is just too small, Prague maybe but yields will be low be its a cheap tourist destination, Lisbon long shot no East Asian airline flies there, Birmingham it’s too close to London.

Cathay Pacific Europe network

Just curious; are there are any significant holes in Cathay Pacific’s europe network? Because from what I see at least all the major cities in Western Europe are covered.. only cities I in Europe I think CX could profitability add are Vienna, Munich and Moscow

especially as VN is making the Hanoi Moscow flight a red eye which is probably more attractive for connections

Re: Japanese airline ANA plans to fly to Moscow and Vladivostok by 2020

I wonder what aircraft type they will use on the route(s)... The Vladivostok route is likely to be shipping industry based, and/or may be interesting for the purposes of cargo. I wonder how they will go on the capacity vs frequency debate - considering that the route can be served by so many aircra...

Domodedovo seems the most logical variant as the majority of *A carriers flies there.

I wouldn’t rule out SVO as JAL already flies to DNE

The reason for ANA's lack of Russian services probably has to do with the legacy of JAL being the Flag carrier. Even now various overflight rights (and probably other rights too) in Russia are restricted to select airlines.

Flights to Moscow don’t need Russian overflight rights

For Vladivostok I sure there would be enough room for another daily flight, apparently right now there’s 6 daily flights between Seoul and Vladivostok, plus Vladivostok is a visa free part of Russia For serving Moscow from Haneda not sure about the bilaterals, but Haneda-moscow would probably be ai...

Good for them! It looks like S7 flies Vladivostok-NRT and is the only one on that route, theres probably some room there for NH. I wonder if Moscow will be served from HND; is that possible under the Russia/Japan bilateral? For Vladivostok I sure there would be enough room for another daily flight,...

Moscow DME resumption could still be an option, Russians are traveling more now and Cx used the wrong aircraft back then (A340) they could just an A330 for a that 9 hour flight now.

NBO would be a good route for CX as there's very good O&D traffic and a lot of Chinese business too. KQ used to fly HKG via BKK but they dropped it so there's no one serving that market now. Chinese traffic is mostly via KQ and CZ from Guangzhou and possibly connections from Ethiopian who have ...

Definitely think Moscow should the next European destination Cathay flies to, 1.biggest European city, 2.Home of one world carrier S7 (domodedovo) 3. Recovering Russian economy and more Russian tourists especially in south east Asia. Should be done 5wk or maybe even daily A359.
