Re: Turkish Airlines increases Washington DC to 10 weekly

Hopefully this leads to lower prices.. The US3 bitch about the pricing competition from the ME3 plus TK, but as a lifelong DC resident I can tell you they are never the cheapest option from IAD.. I fly to Thailand at least twice a year and they are always the most expensive option by several hundred...

Re: Why doesn’t UA fly an Airbus Widebody?

I think replacing the 772ER by a 787s you end up giving payload in the growing Asian markets. And the 777X is is very nice but top heavy & unproven. They'll probably order A223 and A321XLR regardless. Like AA, Jetblue, Delta, Frontier etc. Sounds more like wishful thinking than rational thinkin...

Re: Airbus seeks to break Boeing/AIG deal

I do wonder what was pulling the strings behind this order. The fact that Airbus states they didn't even receive an invite to bid leaves one to think was this a PR stunt or was the price so low they knew it would be an insult to ask Airbus to match... If the goal was to diversify part of the group'...

Re: Bloomberg:Airbus Says It Must Slash A350 Costs to Win Wide-Body Price War

Airbus better address costs quickly.. They should be able to do it as they were able to get A330 costs down dramatically. But until then Boeing will continue to win the battle.. The 787 and A350 are very close performance wise so cost is going to be the deciding factor in most RFPs.

Absolutely stunning!!!!! This is as big as when ordered American A320s.. IAG must have gotten a Ryanair type deal.

Re: Airbus A350 Production/Delivery Thread - 2019

Great work guys, love this thread. Quick question why are some A350s painted before engine installation and some painted after. What determines this decision?

Re: RUMOR: American to order A321LR

What routes should we expect to see launched? Could any routes to Africa we viable? Secondary cities in Deep South America? That would be my question, most assume TA but I think the game changer would be SA.. Just about every city in South America would open up to their MIA hub. I could see a half ...

Re: Updated: Qantas saying it is almost ready to select Project Sunrise aircraft

This recent interview with Qantas CEO Alan Joyce suggests that the primary Project Sunrise routes to be served from MEL and SYD are: ⋅ London ⋅ New York ⋅ Chicago ⋅ Rio de Janeiro ⋅ Cape Town Very interesting, can't think of the last airline to choo...

Re: Qantas plans to launch BNE-SFO and BNE-ORD one QF/AA final approval is granted

Extremely impressive by Qantas. Amazing they can sustain long haul flights out of 4 airports while in Germany, Lufthansa with a much larger economy and 3 times the population can only seem to muster flights from 2.

Re: Reuters: Virgin Atlantic Close to A330neo order

Didn't see this one coming, a nice consultation prize for Airbus after losing the NZ order. The A330Neo needs more help than the A350 anyway.

Re: Updated: Qantas saying it is almost ready to select Project Sunrise aircraft

I think in the end, QF will likely choose the 777-8 (778). With good reason: due to the quite niche nature of the SYD-LHR nonstop route, to minimize issues with deep-vein thrombosis (DVT), the plane will only be equipped with Premium Economy (around 39" seating pitch) and Business class seatin...
