Azul Linhas Aéreas have Live TV onboard almost entire ERJ fleet for years in Brazil and they don't charge you a single penny, no matter intl or domestic.
So, what's all the excitement here?
And EK will pay $7K to each passenger onboard. Announced just few days after the incident.
Another lesson how to deal with a crisis situation...
Well done Mr.Clark, you have something to teach to every single other airline in the world!

Lots of questions need asking about the set up at MAD here. This could have ended up a whole lot worse! I have this photo taken at MAD in 2009. It shows an open door leading to the tarmac with nobody around. It was just left open to get some fresh air I guess. http://www.roproductions.com/aviation/...Jump to post
It reminds me my experience onboard an AF A320 back to 00's from CDG to BCN where I just asked while boarding to see the cockpit and got not only granted access but was also invited to fly in the jumpseat. Lovely French crew, clear and sunny day with unforgettable views on the route and, obviously, ...Jump to post

Announced today at FAS by Airbus and reported on BBC and Yahoo news. 1 per month starting in 2018 to match demand. Can't link it with my iPhone. Thought it was worth it's own thread. I really hope the EK Engineering fellas have made their homework for spare parts storage. It's probably gonna be pre...Jump to post
For those who have been living under a rock for the past year, on Sept. 8th 2015 a BA 77E caught fire at LAS due to uncontained engine failure. Same happened on May 27th 2016 with a KAL 773. On June 27th an SQ 77W burst into flames 2h into the flight and landed, at which point the right wing was en...Jump to post
Well, never heard about playing cards given for free but a session of Poker game at FL390 with another bored travellers sounds interesting,,,
But if I do that onboard an aircraft which belongs to a country where gambling is illegal will put me and my fellows in the jail??
So, is this the first EK accident for the records?Jump to post
I think Air India has the oldest frames in service now, the ones with the 4-wheel bogie undercarriage they inherited from Indian Airlines. Oh yes, they do. Couldn't find the picture I took in BKK in 2004 when I first saw it and loved, very charming. Here's a similar one: http://cdn-www.airliners.ne...Jump to post

Surely it will be more reliable than Skytrax. Right? I think in general TA is like any other "public rating website". The vast majority of the reviews will be honest/real by real travellers but there will of course also be dishonest and paid (or in other ways biased) reviews. Nah... maybe...Jump to post
Does AA and LATAM have a JV for Brazil? AFAIK they don't. LATAM is going to launch Miami-Recife service on September 24th. LATAM will operate one round-trip 767 flight per week. This follows AA temporarily suspending service on the route, but AA will resume year-round service in November. LATAM had...Jump to post
Surely it will be more reliable than Skytrax. Right? Absolutely! Now I have some reliable source from real customers, not from a paid organism. Sad for GRU to lose another carrier but unsurprising given the situation in Brazil. I certainly don't expect WK ZRH-GIG to last long. There's a rumor being discussed in another thread of LH starting MUC-EZE, which would certainly make sense given this move and the recent reversal of fortunes for Ar...Jump to post
Thanks again for AA honoring GRU in the debut of a new model, as you did with the 77W. :D That's why I don't even check other airlines fares when I go to the USA. While on a first reading this is an auspicious development for GRU and Brazil, I am afraid there is not much to celebrate beyond that. N...Jump to post

Like you said, eliminating the stop is the key here. Adding to that, fares are pretty reasonable for the consumer in both classes, and their only non-stop competition is AI from JFK - an airline that has arguably terrible onboard service vs UA. What's the point for no more 3 holers widebodies developments being even considered? Aesthetically I found the MD-11, L-1011 and the DC-10 a kind of beauty and charming while abundant out there but all we see now are "economical" 2 or 4 holers.
