Re: Rumor: DL announcing new BOS routes next week.

If the rumor is true then I think DL will definitely be announcing some new routes. I don't see why Bastian would come all the way to BOS just to announce that DL has 5 more gates now. When's the last time DL sent its CEO to a market to announce new service? It wasn't last month when DL announced n...

Re: Where is BA's announcement for North America expansion in 2020?

In all seriousness I wonder if they’d cut BOS to three, give one to AA, and put the A380 year-round on the route to go with a pair of 747s. I know AA is invested in PHL, but a 787 could work for them BOS-LHR I think.

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

Boston is growing its own tentacles to places around the world via foreign flag carriers that the need to ‘connect’ anywhere is lessening with each passing year.

Re: 2019 College Football Charters Thread

DL 8898 (757) brought Kansas from Topeka to Bedford, Mass. The plane, which I thought would simply go the 5 minutes to Boston to serve some flight from there, instead flew all the way to LAX.

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

I grew up in an age where there were the ‘Big Three’ and then everybody else. The Big Three being TW, UA, and AA. They were ‘network’ carriers and all the others, for the most part, were more ‘regional’ in reach. So I’m one of those who now sees sort of ‘weakened’ AA and UA (as far as BOS goes) and ...

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

I think AA had this mindset that BOS was too close to JFK, and ‘us people’ could connect to the ROW from there. This, after B6 said, “Uh, NOPE. Boston is its own market, and a strong and balanced one at that.”

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

The telling thing is that the sum of the AA+US parts shrank in Boston once they got together. Like, 2+1=0.75.

I’m not here to validate this thesis, but FORBES is asking whether AA let Boston ‘Get away from them.’

The -400 comes back in late October, heralding the ‘end’ of summer for airlines. The second Daily goes away, too. Same with BA and their A380.

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

It appears as though CX is standing firm at BOS in the face of cuts elsewhere. Of note, both JFK and IAD are seeing draw-downs while BOS stands pat through the winter.

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2019

Do most people believe that AMS is adequately served by the DL/KLM mix already in place or can the market take more? In other words, could KL go daily in 2020?

Re: Amazon Fleet Discussion - 2019

Up here in the New Hampshire region, we have two upcoming Amazon facilities...one in Andover (MA) and the second in Hooksett (NH). Both are probably 20 minutes from MHT, which would seem to make a good airport for them to fly to.

Re: BA9154 diversion into OAK just now

The morning Boston-Heathrow flight (238) went today (777 G-YMMP), probably one of the only ones in the air. I wonder is the pilots are going to be seen as 'scabs' upon touchdown this evening.

BA just kept a couple of their A380s stateside instead of sending them back. The Boston inbound went to Dulles; the SFO inbound went to Oakland.

They say that one bad apple shouldn’t spoil the bunch, but the public’s perception of unions and their ‘tactics’ can’t help but take a hit.
