Re: Japan Airlines Eyeing New U.S. Destinations

Is there actually any chance of PHL here? There is always a chance sure small though. JL can run a 787 to start off. 3 times weekly and build off that. Essentially JL would be provide us connections to other Asian countries. The main problem is going to be the plane sitting in PHL for 20-hours to h...

UPS and FedEx have bumped up service at MHT as they always do. UPS is sending an A306 from Ontario to MHT each day. Also of note is the log jam of Amazon Prime trailers being parked at MHT. I see that almost all the DL transatlantic flights coming into BOS ‘lead’ all the other flights by a good hour or thereabouts. We were sort of expecting to see JAL get a HND-BOS flight, but that didn’t happen. Is it more likely that ANA gets that route, or no one gets it at all? I’m leaning toward BOS-HND doesn’t happen at all.

I think the Boston route is supposed to switch from 777 to 787 at some point in 2020, but from the schedules I can’t find out when. Also, I believe it’s supposed to be the 789 although I saw someone comment elsewhere it would be a 788.

I think it will be a fine aircraft going forward. In Boston, the Terminal E expansion will include dual-aircraft piers, which is terrific for planes like the A321. The wingspan is way less than the 787, so for a given footprint that the expanded terminal will occupy, a pair of A321s can comfortably ...
