Today was a horrific one, and on a personal level, made me sick to my stomach for most of it. Working for an airline, and knowing how large our aircraft are and imagining them being out of control, along with passengers and children on board is somthing I cannot even fathom. I pray for the families ...Jump to post
I was noticing all the awesome planes you guys are creating like the SW 744, and some others. I was wondering if you could create the following planes for me and post them in here:
SWA DC10, 767, and 757 in old livery.
Alaska Airlines 767, 757
Thanks guys, hope to see them!
Hi folks, I'm the CEO of the brand new airline we call "Perfect Airways". First of all, it's a pleasure to meet all of you on this forum, and hopefully we will see you on one of our flights soon. Let me start off by telling you about our airline. We are based in whatever city you want. Whichever cit...Jump to post
Booyala, sorry to hear about your experience, but shit man, the airlines do what they have to do. That is true that travel agencies cannot give you a for sure seat usually, or should I say it'll probably change when you get to the actual airline. Dude, they have so many passengers to make happy, and...Jump to post
This is true...no fences. Saw a special on TLC about which areas of the world are safest in terms of air travel. They showed a U.S. airport, showed the fences, signs, then switched to an African airport and there were 4 kids racing a 707 (figures) that was starting to take off. They were literally o...Jump to post
Dude, I work for Northwest. I fly on average 3 round trips a week. I would rather sit in cow maneur then use a lav on a plane (besides the ones in the back of our DC10's) I get a kick out of seeing people on flights that have almost 2 hours of waiting in the terminal to board a plane, but, right aft...Jump to post
At hobby shops, I sometimes see, mixed in with everything else, an airliner model you put together and stuff. Is there a place I can order these? I'm looking for all different airlines. I noticed that they are very detailed and exactly what the real thing looks like, where as the Wooster and other s...Jump to post
2 questions for SJC... 1) I see the runway(s) were lengthened, what are they going to do now in terms of departures and arrivals at the same time, which runway will be used for what? 2) Every night around 7pm, a bunch of cargo airlines depart out of SJC, why in this hour? Where do the FedEx DC10's g...Jump to post
I just have to share the take off I just had yesterday on a NWDC10. This thing gives the 744 I just flew on recently a run for it's money... Just flew to MSP for the weekend, got back today. Flew a NW 757 there, nice plane. Coming home I thought I was to be on another 757, but when I got to my gate,...Jump to post
Oh...one more thing. All growing up until about age 12, I use to look at the safety cards (before I even cared what the hell they were) and I remember always seeing the oxygen masks over the people's faces and it use to always freak me out. I had a thing about breathing when i was a kid...so go figu...Jump to post
I am 21 years old now, and I haven't been able to live this one down all this time...On a flight to Hawaii when I was 5, I was with my parents, brother and cousins and aunts/uncles. After we took off we went thru the clouds and I said "Dad, are we by God yet?"
Tomorrow morning I am flying out of SFO to MSP on NWA. I come back the same day at 8pm and then run to a flight to SEA on AS. I'm staying in SEA for the weekend so I am taking baggage with me, however I do not want to take that baggage to MSP with me. Please, somebody tell me there are lockers in th...Jump to post
I was wondering if anybody could provide step-by-step directions on which website and how to download additional airliners for FS2000. I have a Compaq Presario computer, and literally know nothing about computers. So, explicit directions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Dude, I was just at OAK today picking somebody up. That airport has serious problems. I have not seen more construction in such a small area in my life. The airport itself is very run down and old and crappy. Southwest, American, Alaska and some other normal airlines go there, but as I'm walking pas...Jump to post
I'm trying to do a little research and figure out what planes and flight numbers I flew on back in the early 90's and thru the 80's. First... In the 80's, from about '80-'87, did Northwest operate nonstop to DTW from SJC, or just from SFO. What types of planes were used on these flights on NW? Also,...Jump to post
Yesterday, while I was waiting in line in the blazing hot sun in 90 degree weather at Great America (theme park)here in San Jose, CA, I looked up and there was a DL 722 in the old colors taking off. I have not seen one of these in a long time, and I was wondering just how rare are they becoming now,...Jump to post
Can I have your number, I forgot mine. Do you wash your pants with windex? Because I can see myself in them. Can I buy you a drink, or do you just want the money. If I could arrange the alphabet, I'd put "U" and "I" together. Are you tierd? Because you've been running thru my mind all day. Fuck me i...Jump to post
I was spotting at SJC today, and saw the AA 777 to Taipai take off. As it started retracting it's wheels, I noticed they were still spinning. On planes, when the wheels get almost in or totally into the wheel well, is there something that stops them from spinning or do they just spin themselves unti...Jump to post
Let me share somthing with everybody here. After reading this post about Apollo being afraid to fly on the Alaska MD80, it reminded me of how I use to think when I fly. Living in Seattle, the hub of Alaska Airlines and after seeing thousands of those skinny sardine cans we call the MD80 of Alaska Ai...Jump to post
Last week, I flew on a UA 744 from SFO-ORD, and that plane is freakin unbelieveable. I have never been on a 747, so this was an experience. I sat directly over the rear edge of the right wing in seat 37k. I videotaped the entire flight. The seats were huge and comfortable, service was excellent, and...Jump to post
What is up with this? Here this foum is sitting and crying over the Delta L-1011's last flight, which I will admit is sad and it was a great plane. Now, sombody posts a topic stating that Northwest is starting to retire their DC-10's and all somebody could say is "it's about time they retired those ...Jump to post
I don't know if it's just me, or do you guys miss the color's of the late 70's, 80's, and early 90's? Planes use to be distinct with their color choices, none of the dark blue, grey, and navy that's used today. Logo's use to be basic and nice to the eyes, not too busy. USAirways' new colors aren't t...Jump to post
I'm going to ORD from SFO this coming Saturday, and I'm on a 744. This will be my first flight on this plane, and I was hoping to be able to go upstairs after we land to the gate and check out the cock pit, and other stuff up there. Do they allow this? Who should I ask?
NW's A320s are nice planes. I've flown hundreds of flights in them between SEA-DTW and SJC-DTW. Although I prefer NW's DC10s, if I have to pick between the 757 and A320, I'd pick the A320. There aren't PTV's like others said, just the little screens throughout the plane. But who the hell on this for...Jump to post
On August 3rd, I'm flying SFO-ORD on flight 138. I'm supposed to be on a 744, but that sounds sort of weird on a flight that short. Anyways what should I expect on that flight meal wise, movie wise, anything and everything you can tell me. My return flight is #61 from ORD-SFO on the 11th. SEAnwDC10Jump to post
This photo obviously shows the last TWA L1011 flight. Now, the passengers are all in there seeing water spray onto the aircraft, do the flight attendants explain what is going on? Also, when a captain retires, what do they say in the cabin, anybody ever been on an aircraft involved in a water cannon...Jump to post
I'd have to agree with GYRO. The Concorde is cool, but dude, who the hell is stupid enough to spend 10k on a ticket on somthing that is as wide as the rear cargo hold of a 737, and the windows as big as my head (literally). My parents took the Concorde a week before last years crash. They flew it fr...Jump to post
IMHO is in my humble opinion which isn't humble if you're giving it! <img src="/discussions/graphics/smile.gif" ALT="Smile"> j/k Anyways, for me, it always depends on the type of aircraft that is offered on the flight I want to take. From where to where are you going? Service wise, I'd say NW....Jump to post
In light of the recent post about posing in the engine, I thought it would be cool to get some pictures on here of people doing so! I unfortuantly don't have one of me in the engine, but if you have one of yourself or somebody you know or a random guy in an engine, post it!
