They do not longer fly to Manaus. I tried to buy a ticket VVI-LPB according to info in their website, but they told me they had cancelled for more than a year... So I had to travel VVI-GRU-MAO and cost me thrice
I am glad someone is interested in other areas rather than Europe, US and southeast Asia. Airservices in Africa are interesting due to the demand and market. I guess the major players would be Egyptair (MS), SAA (SA), Ethiopian Airlines (ET), Royal Air Maroc (AT), and Kenya Airways. Hence CAI, JNB, ...Jump to post
Dodoma and Yamousokro might qualify as capital cities without international services... but still, they are not big enough. RQ774477 is, saddly, right about new "flights" to Baghdad in the near future. So, just a question... If I would want to go to Baghdad, should I do it overland? How come? I reme...Jump to post
Can you believe the rates in Argentina after devaluation? If you have been wondering how is it to fly First Class, you can do it in Argentina with AR very very cheap... only 930 Argentinian Pesos for a roundtrip Buenos Aires-Ushuaia (southernmost tip of Argetina). It is a flight of over 3 hours non ...Jump to post
OK. Final count. They were not 31, but 44... Thank you all for your help and knowlege... Still, if any one wants to add something else.... WOW!!! So many interesting answers and in so little time We have a winner. Thanks Cedarjet Baghdad is absolutely the largest capital city without international services (not even domestic). We understand it is a political situation, but, still, no service is no service... And it is 6.5 millio...Jump to post
I guess that prize would go to BSB (Brasilia, Brazil), unless:
a) you know there is an international services from BSB (if so, please, let me know airline, destination, frequency and a/c)
b) there are larger capitals with international service (I think BSB is over 1,5 million people).
BA: If ZCL does not appear on CO timetable perhaps they no longer fly there. I guess it is because ZCL is so small but, at the same time, it has a lot of Zacatecanos living in very specific places.... So the choices of flights must consider this. Zacatecanos mainly live in San José, Denver and Chica...Jump to post
I would vote for Michael O'Leary on the same grounds as Airblue.
Despite Neelman has built a very (apparentely) succesful airline, I believe it is still no time to prove if his strategies have been the rights one on a LONG TERM prospective
Who is counting the number of votes?
After the grounding of Air Africa, what are the airlines serving Cote d'Ivoire, Niger, Mali, Chad, etc? I mean, do they already have another major carrier whose hub might be ABJ, NDJ, BMK?
And which are the African air carriers with the largest African network?
SA, ET, MS perhaps
Thank you guys. The list which started with 31 US served from Mexico has already grown to 42. I am amazed of the number of cities I did not considered in the original list. So, besides the original 31, we have added: HRL SJU CLE SMF LRD MDW ONT ABQ PIT CVG CRP (Corpus Christi, TX) Well, in fact, the...Jump to post
I would start two airlines: "Royal Lion" and "A volar!" Royal Lion would an upmarket airlines with only C and Y service from HKG to: BKK, TPE, KUL, SIN, MNL, PEK and SHA. 737 is the choice a/c A volar! would come from the purchase of routing rights from 6A and JR (Aviacsa and Aerocalifornia). Hence ...Jump to post
If you are based in MTY, may be you can help me.
Take a look to my post titled "US cities served from Mexico. 31?" The list is now in 34... The goal is 40 and then compare it to US services from Canada
SJU: MX used to serve it, but after a long time not flying there, they decided to serve SDQ instead. MSY: is already included in the list MSP: it is only charter or season service. CLE: OK... added. SMF: I had not heard of this service... Can you confirm us when was it and from where. Up to know, th...Jump to post
Thanx SQ325... I meant "other airlines but Ariana"... Sorry, I was not clear enough.
Ariana (FG) new destinations are:KBL-IST-FRA
And they currently fly: DEL, AMR (on a load basis, which I guess means, if there is people, we depart, if there is not, no flight at all!!!!!), SRJ, AUH
Yes. I think we should keep it you all-year round scheduled services. Otherwise we'll have to add cities such as MCI, JAX with a couple of flights a year to CUN. So, despite it is NW which flies from MSP to six destinations, I think our list keeps at 32. Anyone else? Who can give me one more? Come o...Jump to post
Is 6A flying MTY-LAX?
They announced MTY-PVR and MTY-LAX, but I was not aware it was already a fact.
Did they drop any other service? May be MTY-TIJ, or MTY-CUN
Taesa (GD) also used to fly from ZCL to Chicago, LAX and OAK
To be honest, Zacatecas is rather small (below 300,000 inhabitants). The whole state has about 1,3 million people. However, there are 1,3 million people living abroad mainly in CO, CA and IL.
I can think in the following 31 cities in the US served nonstop from Mexican airports in the last 20 years... Am I missing any? LAX, SAN, SFO, OAK, SJC, SLC, DEN, SEA, LAS, PHX, TUS, ELP, IAH, DFW, MFE, SAT, ATL, STL, MEM, RDU, MIA, MCO, TPA, MSY, IAD, BWI, PHL, JFK, EWR, ORD, DTW ... the following ...Jump to post
Oops! I am sorry. I missed MTY-ORD with MX. However my point still stays... Most flights originating from MTY tend to be to TX or eastern. Only LAS is served west of TX, and that is for known reasons... But there is not even a service to LAX or SFO... so there is no chance for Frontier in DEN-MTY or...Jump to post
mariner: I guess a flight DEN-MTY will be a total failure. Thought MTY is a relevant business centre, there is few demand to the Rockies, even the Pacific. Currently, there are only 6 destinations to the US: IAH, DFW, SAT, ATL, JFK and LAS... The last two are served only 5x... I guess most of the in...Jump to post
